Republican Sen. Ted Cruz should have been walked after a beer can was pitched at his head during the Houston Astros’ World Series parade on Monday.
The Texas senator was jeered by the crowd as he waved from a parade float along with his wife and two children, when someone lobbed a beer can at him with the accuracy of an All-Star pitcher.
Cruz and an aide, who was riding in the back of the army green truck with him, tried to bat the can away, but the parade goer still managed to strike the politician. He was hit in the upper chest area, but did not require medical attention after the incident.
The staff member pointed out the attacker to nearby police, who arrested an unidentified male without further incident. He was booked into jail and will face assault charges for throwing the beer can slider.
Woke Twitter was thrilled about the senator’s assault. “How can I contribute to his legal fund,” somebody wrote about the 33-year-old attacker. “Bail him out someone,” added another.
“We’re better than that. Should be anyway,” one person tweeted. “True. Should have been a tall boy,” one user replied.
“It was hard seltzer,” someone joked. “No beer was harmed in the making of this film.”
Cruz lauded law enforcement for rapidly handling the Houston heckler. “As always I’m thankful for the Houston Police and Capitol Police for their quick action,” he tweeted. “I’m also thankful that the clown who threw his White Claw had a noodle for an arm.”
Earlier in the day, Cruz told Fox News Digital that he thinks that conservative voters will ensure that the GOP is going to “retake the House and the Senate,” after the midterms.
“I am incredibly optimistic,” he remarked. “I think this is going to be, not just a red wave, but a red tsunami.”
Cruz said that he routinely asks voters if their lives are better than they were when Biden took office.
if you happen to be a Big Tech billionaire, or a human trafficker, or a fentanyl dealer, then the answer is clearly yes, and you probably ought to vote for the Democrat,” he quipped.
“But if you’re not, if you’re a truck driver or a steelworker or a cop or a firefighter or a teacher or a waiter or a waitress or a mom or a senior on retirement or a young person coming out of school, your life has gotten much, much tougher under radical left-wing policies,” the conservative politician concluded.
Cruz wasn’t the only one taking shots after the Houston Astros defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 6 of the World Series. Former Phillies legend Lenny Dykstra blamed First Lady Jill Biden for ruining her home team’s chances after appearing at Citizens Bank Ballpark for Game 4 on Nov. 2.
The Phillies had a 2-1 lead going into Game 4, which they lost 5-0, with the Dr. Biden in the stands. The team subsequently lost 3-2 at home on Friday, and again during Saturday’s game in Houston by 4-1.
Dykstra gleefully pointed out that the entire team only had nine collective hits in the three games they lost in a row, “since the doctor showed up.”
