This week’s insane crime stories are straight out of a movie plot, and the truth really is stranger than fiction.
A greedy father-son duo were arrested for plotting to kill an immediate family member over inheritance money in Wisconsin.
A Michigan man kidnapped and sexually assaulted a pregnant woman for weeks, and managed to keep her hostage by threatening to attack her with his razor sharp teeth.
Even more insanely, an Iranian catfish stabbed her dating site hook-up for revenge over a 2020 U.S. drone strike that took out an Iranian general.
Two Wisconsin men, Joseph Hoppa, 62, and his son, Jason Hoppa, 38, were arrested for solicitation of first degree intentional homicide on Nov. 30, and their target was allegedly the elder Hoppa’s other son.
Both men were cut out of Hoppa senior’s father’s will, which was given to the unnamed victim in entirety.
The estate’s assets included several properties and an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Daily Mail.
Both Joseph and Jason believed that the their deceased family member was manipulated into making the other son the sole heir, and devised a murder-for-hire plot.
Law enforcement was alerted to the scheme by the alleged hitman in October.
He had been living on one of Joseph’s properties since March, when he and his son offered a sum of $40k to take out the estate’s sole benefactor in July.
When the hitman learned that the target was Hoppa’s own son, he asked, “What happened to blood is thicker than water?”
He said that Hoppa coldly responded, “No love here, I have no love for this kid. He’s got to go, no ifs, and or buts, he’s got to f—ing go.”
One state away, Michael Barajas, 36, was arrested on Dec. 8 for kidnapping a woman and holding her hostage for three weeks, while he repeatedly raped and sex trafficked her.
Barajas allegedly lured the victim to his Genesee County home, when he found her on the street after she had been kicked out of her home during Thanksgiving week.
According to Fox News, he offered the woman food, a warm shower, and a place to stay, but immediately locked her inside a room and tied her to a bed with rope.
Barajas, who has a series of insane facial tattoos, reportedly threatened to maim her with his razor sharp teeth, which have all been filed to points.
“Barajas threatened that if she didn’t do everything that he told her to do, that he would bite her neck and rip out her throat,” Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson said in a press conference on Wednesday.
He repeatedly raped her over the course of her three week captivity, and allowed others to do the same.
“This guy used the opportunity to not only sexually assault but have people come over and traffic her as she was tied forcibly to the bed while they assaulted her,” Swanson detailed.
The unnamed woman attempted to escape three times, but it wasn’t she had a medical emergency concerning her pregnancy, that medical staff were able to identify that the woman was in serious trouble.
They informed police of their concerns after her visit, and officers raided the home on Dec. 8, which resulted in the rescue of the captive woman.
Barajas was arrested for kidnapping, sexual assault, human trafficking, and a series of other charges. He is being held on $250,000 bond until his Dec. 22 court date.
“This guy is a monster. If you look at the teeth that are filed down and the threats of ripping out a throat, I will say no more,” Swanson concluded.
A Las Vegas man was also the victim of a targeted sexual attack, when an Iranian ex-pat plotted to get revenge for the 2020 U.S. drone strike that took out Iranian general Qasem Soleimani.
Nika Nikoubin, 22, confessed to police that on the night of March 5, she lured a male victim off the dating site Plenty of Fish to a hotel room outside of Las Vegas with the intention of harming him in retribution for Soleimani’s death.
Nikoubin, a UCLA student at the time, blindfolded the unidentified man while they were engaging in sexual activity, then stabbed him in the neck.
The man told a grand jury that he managed to shove her off of him and she apologized, before running out of the room naked.
When police found her still unclothed in a utility room of the hotel, she admitted to stabbing him and said it was out of “spite and revenge” for the drone strike on Soleimani.
“I mean the U.S. killed Soleimani. Lots of blood spilled,” she told them. “So, I feel like, it’s fair that American blood be spilled.”
“Americans are cool, just I don’t think it was fair,” Nikoubin continued. “I just felt like somebody on American soil should die because he also died.”
She was charged with attempted murder and two counts of battery for the assault.
Nikoubin was found to fit to stand trial, despite a doctor’s note that she was diagnosed with various mental health issues, including paranoid personality disorder.
