Tesla CEO Elon Musk demanded that the infamous QAnon Shaman be released from prison, after sharing a never before seen video of his actions during the Capitol riot.
Jacob Chansley was sentenced to 41 months in prison after pleading guilty to obstructing an official proceeding, nine months months after entering the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021.
“Free Jacob Chansley,” Musk captioned a video of unseen footage of Chansley during the riot.
Musk retweeted a post from political consultant Chuck Callesto, who shared the new footage.
“Censored video re-emerges of Jacob Chansley reading Trump’s tweet, telling protestors to GO HOME and remain peaceful,” Callesto posted. “WON’T SEE THIS ON CNN…”
In the two minute and sixteen second long video, Chansley – wearing his notorious horned headdress – stood with his back to the doors of the Capitol as he shouted through a bullhorn at fellow protestors.
“We made our point. Donald Trump asked everybody to go home,” he crowed.
“So what are we gonna do? We’re gonna obey our president, we’re gonna do what he asks, and go home.”
Others around him could be heard shouting, “respect the landlord, respect the Capitol,” and Chansley remarked, “Let’s get out of here, guys.”
He told the crowd that they were going to pull up the tweet and once again reiterated that Trump had asked everyone to go home.
At one point, someone held up a phone and Chansley read the former president’s tweet asking protesters, to remain peaceful, “remember that we are the party of law and order,” and to respect law enforcement.
Towards the end of the footage, Chansley repeatedly shouted for protesters to “back it up,” because they “are not ANTIFA.”
The video Musk shared comes after Fox News host Tucker Carlson released footage of Chansley casually roaming the halls of Congress, while flanked with by two Capitol Police officers that seemed to be escorting him into the Senate chamber.
After calling for Chansley’s release, Musk was labeled as “part of the MAGA MOVEMENT,” by a follower.
He promptly responded that he was not “part of MAGA,” but does “believe in fairness of justice.”
“Chansley was falsely portrayed in the media as a violent criminal who tried to overthrow the state and who urged others to commit violence,” Musk wrote in a follow-up.
“But here he is urging people to be peaceful and go home. And the other video shows him calmly walking in the Capitol building, being escorted by officers and then thanking the officers.”
Musk shared an additional video of Carlson’s Monday report about Chansley’s actions in the Capitol building.
In the footage, he could be seen standing at the dais in the Senate chamber with his headdress off, while he thanked God for inspiring the Capitol Police to let protestors into the building.
“Chansley got 4 years in prison for a non-violent, police-escorted tour!?” Musk commented on the video.
“Dave Chapelle was violently assaulted on stage by a guy with a knife,” he concluded. “That guy got a $3000 fine & no prison time.”
Chansley’s mother, Martha Chansley, appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” and the titular host asked what it was like to see people “call for the killing of her son.
“What has it been like – that is an awful thing to say, it’s horrible,” she remarked. “Honestly I can’t imagine saying that for somebody who just walked through open doors.”
She noted it was “upsetting” that the Biden administration “hid evidence” that she believes “should have come out two years ago.”
“He’s he’s an innocent man. Everything that he [Jacob] said that he did is true — That he walked through open doors. He was escorted through the halls in the Senate,” she noted.
“And part of the reason that he was escorted was because he volunteered to help them,” Martha disclosed.
“[Jacob] said that he saw people in the Senate and that he wanted to help [the Capitol Police] in anyway that he could,” she explained.
