Former President Donald Trump blasted frequent foe Megan Rapinoe after the U.S. women’s soccer team was eliminated from the 2023 World Cup.
The team’s loss to Sweden in a 5-4 penalty shoot out during round 16, resulted in their earliest exit from a major tournament.
The World Cup marked the end of the former USWNT captain’s 17-year career on a sour note.
“I mean, this is like a sick joke,” she remarked after the match. “For me personally, I’m just like, this is a dark comedy. I missed a penalty.”

At 38 years old, Rapinoe is done with professional soccer after 63 career goals, four World Cups, two FIFA titles, and an Olympic gold medal in 2012.
The USWNT made headlines before being knocked out of the tournament when six of the eleven players refused to hold their hands over their hearts, or sing along, while the National Anthem played prior to their 3-0 win over Vietnam.
Fox or the USWNT are disabling videos of leftist tool Megan Rapinoe’s missing the penalty kick. So here is Ms. Rapinoe missing again. Megan Rapinoe will go down as one of the biggest losers in American history.

Rapinoe was one of the early adopters of kneeling during the “Star Spangled Banner,” when she became the most visible female athlete to join former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s protest against police brutality and racial inequality in 2016.
Trump, who has repeatedly clashed with the soccer star for years, took to Truth Social to criticized the team and Rapinoe for their early loss.
“The ‘shocking and totally unexpected’ loss by the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team to Sweden is fully emblematic of what is happening to the our once great Nation under Crooked Joe Biden,’ he wrote on Sunday night.
Dear Megan Rapinoe,
We will never forget your disrespect.
Sincerely,
America pic.twitter.com/IfKKbUr9UO— Eric Spracklen🇺🇸 (@EricSpracklen) August 6, 2023
“Many of our players were openly hostile to America – No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close,” Trump pointed out.
“WOKE EQUALS FAILURE,” he sniped. “Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! MAGA.”
Rapinoe got onto Trump’s radar after declaring that she would not partake in the long standing tradition of athletes visiting the White House if her team won the World Cup in 2019.
Trump tweeted that “Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team,” in June of 2019.
When the team did win that year, Rapinoe told Meet The Press that Trump was dividing America.
“I think Trump’s message excludes people that look like me and are me, of course, but it excludes a lot of people in his base, as well,” Rapinoe commented at the time.
Trump called it back in 2021 on Megan Rapinoe
“The one with the purple hair, she didn’t play too well.”

“And I think that he’s trying to divide so he can conquer and not unite so we can all conquer.”
In August 2021, Trump once again criticized Rapinoe and the “woke” U.S. women’s soccer team, suggesting that their focus on social issues hindered their third place performance in the Tokyo Olympics.
“If our soccer team, headed by a radical group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn’t woke, they would have won the Gold Medal instead of the Bronze,” he said in a statement in August of 2021.
I’m gonna be honest, I really enjoy seeing Megan Rapinoe cry. pic.twitter.com/Q6sKHxFAFS

“Woke means you lose, everything that is woke goes bad, and our soccer team certainly has.”
He noted that a few of the players stood during the National Anthem during the Olympics, but singled out Rapinoe for focusing more on politics than scoring goals.
“The woman with the purple hair played terribly and spends too much time thinking about Radical Left politics and not doing her job!” Trump quipped.
Prior to the World Cup, Rapinoe defended transgender women competing against female athletes.
“Show me the evidence that trans women are taking everyone’s scholarships, are dominating in every sport, are winning every title,” she told TIME. “I’m sorry, it’s just not happening.”
“I’m 100 per cent supportive of trans inclusion,” Rapinoe added. “People do not know very much about it. We’re missing almost everything.”
