Conservative commentators Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens are on opposite sides of the aisle over blacklisting Harvard’s pro-Hamas student body.
The high learning institution has taken heat since a group of 31 Harvard organizations blamed Israel for terrorist organization’s surprise attack on the country on October 7.
Their open letter claimed that Hamas’ murderous siege did not occur in a vacuum, and blamed Israeli officials for forcing millions of Palestinians in Gaza to “live in an open-air prison.”
‘We, the undersigned student organizations, hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence,” they stated.
You’ve got to be kidding me. They sided with terrorists who murdered children and old women. You’re not clear on this as someone who wants to be president? https://t.co/656slMIQKL

In response to their pro-Hamas stance, a group of corporate bosses, led by billionaire Bill Ackman, the CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, refuse to hire the Ivy League educated students.
Ackman said that he was contacted by “a number of CEOs” that want to find out the identities of the students who are part of the 31 groups who signed the letter, so none of them “inadvertently hire any of their members.”
Oh stop it. This is incredibly disingenuous, Megyn.
You know that many of those students are not out there because they want babies to be murdered.
College kids are stupid. I used to be radically pro-choice. Glad I didn’t get put on a “conservative” black list for wanting… https://t.co/fxvnxUmSZY— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) October 15, 2023
“One should not be able to hide behind a corporate shield when issuing statements supporting the actions of terrorists, who, we now learn, have beheaded babies, among other inconceivably despicable acts,” Ackman remarked in a letter imploring the university to release the student’s identities.
Kelly and Owens got involved in a debate about whether the students should be blacklisted from the workforce over the weekend.
The exchange began after Kelly took aim at Republican presidential hopeful and Harvard alum, Vivek Ramaswamy, for a comment he made about the situation on social media.
I will again restate that is unlikely that the majority of the college kids were taking to the streets to explicitly “cheer murdered babies”. They instead believe they are fighting for some other righteous cause. While misguided, they are in need of education, not black lists.… https://t.co/Hq307mLAww

On Sunday, he called the students who signed the letter “simple fools,” but argued that “colleges are spaces for students to experiment with ideas” and sometimes that translates into joining clubs that “endorse boneheadedly wrong ideas.”
“But it’s not productive for companies to blacklist kids for being members of student groups that make dumb political statements on campus,” he tweeted.
That’s when Kelly jumped in and verbally smacked Ramaswamy around for his take on the situation at his alma mater.
So why exactly are you tagging them-
LOL. Would you like a direct contact to management? Help me help you. https://t.co/gPUBcKLYKt— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) October 15, 2023
“You’ve got to be kidding me. They sided with terrorists who murdered children and old women,” she snapped back. “You’re not clear on this as someone who wants to be president?”
Ramaswamy argued that while groups involved with the letter were “dead wrong,” hunting down individual members for the sole purpose of blacklisting them was not productive.
“If they are not “persuaded” that murdering babies is wrong, there is no “persuading” them,” Kelly pointed out.
“We don’t hire those who do the killing & we don’t hire those who applaud the killers while the savagery is underway. If you are open to hiring one of these lunatics, tho, good to know!”
Owens chimed in on Kelly’s last comment, and claimed that her stance was “incredibly disingenuous,” and pointed out how incredibly different her views were as a student.
Yes I do remember. Sorry I couldn’t actually make your show in the end.
I’m not sure what obscure point you’re trying to prove so I’ll just continue being the mature one in this thread by thanking you for your willingness to help us promote a new series. https://t.co/O7YA1qreEn

“College kids are stupid. I used to be radically pro-choice. Glad I didn’t get put on a “conservative” black list for wanting babies murdered,” she remarked.
Owens said that at the time she was young and “temporarily brainwashed by “Hollywood lies” and a public school education.
“Students are young and experimenting,” she commented. “You are an adult woman who is advocating for their lives to be permanently pigeonholed because they have the wrong ideas which are likely being spoon fed to them in their classrooms.”
This is how it works you see. You attack someone who has been nothing but nice to and supportive of you. Then when that person calls you out, you just keep saying “I am the mature one!”
Take care Candace. I wish you well. https://t.co/iJ0Stp4h2e— Megyn Kelly (@megynkelly) October 15, 2023
Kelly did not take kindly to the intrusion. “Being liberal is not the same as taking to the streets to cheer murdered babies and blame said murders on the victims,” she sniped.
“But you go ahead and hire as many of them as you want Candace. I’m sure the[The Daily Wire] will love that.”
Owens replied that the students were “misguided,” and “in need of education, not black lists.”
“I would also like to highlight your inherent pettiness and immaturity for tagging the Daily Wire,” she complained.
The exchange got super petty from there, with Kelly clarifying that Owens outed her position on her own and wishing her luck with her “future intern program.”
Owens replied that she could get her in “direct contact” with the conservative news organization’s management team.
Kelly reminded her that she had their contact information from when she spoke to the Daily Wire about promoting Owen’s crime series as a “favor.”
Owens sarcastically apologized for not making it to record the show, then thanking Kelly for her willingness to promote their new series.
Kelly called Owens out for attacking “someone who has been nothing but nice to and supportive of you,” and signed off by wishing her well.
Though Kelly wasn’t actually done with the conversation, just the exchange on social media. She addressed the spat on her show the next day.
“Candace Owens felt the need to weigh in … and you know, I think it’s wonderful that she’s willing to take them (the pro-Palestinian students) on. I really do,” she said snidely.
“I look forward to the Candace Owens internship program over at The Daily Wire, and I have found a bunch of students who she could take on, because she really thinks that they’re open minded to a change of heart,” Kelly continued.
She noted that 17-year-olds don’t have fully formed views of the world, but college students in their twenties are old enough to know that “murder is wrong.”
“You’ve learned by then it’s not okay to kill babies, little civilians who are asleep in their beds,” Kelly stated. “That’s bad. Most humans have learned that by the time they go off to college.”
The former Fox News host doesn’t think that “it should be such a high bar to require them to consider that knowledge,” before signing inflammatory letters.
“I am 100% pro-blacklist. It is not ‘cancel culture,‘ I don’t associate with terrorists,” she concluded. “I don’t hire their sympathizers. And I don’t recommend you do it either.”
