Former pro-hooper Charles Barkley blasted San Francisco while he was commentating on Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game.
The former Phoenix Suns’ great made the remarks while analyzing the game on TNT’s Altcast with former Indiana Pacers shooting guard Reggie Miller and current Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green.
Green began the exchange by complaining about the how cold Indianapolis was over the weekend, which hovered in the teens throughout most of Saturday and Sunday.
“Hey Reggie we love you, let’s not have another All-Star [game] in Indiana. Let’s let this be the last one, my friend,” Green joked.
Charles Barkley again bashed San Francisco, this time around talk of the cold in Indianapolis. "If you had the chance between being cold or being around a bunch of homeless crooks in San Francisco, which would you take?" pic.twitter.com/o0W9aUQCyI

That’s when Barkley took a cheap shot at the Warriors’ home city San Francisco.
“Hey Reggie, if you had a chance of being in the cold, or being around a bunch of homeless crooks in San Francisco, which would you take,” he questioned.
Many of the other commentators jeered at the remark. “We love San Francisco,” Candace Parker replied diplomatically.
“No we don’t,” Barkley responded. “You can’t even walk around down there.”
Green was clearly upset with the former NBA player’s remarks about his city.
“Yes we do,” he defended. “Yes, you can walk around.”
But Barkley, who wasn’t done needling him, took a final shot. “Yeah with a bulletproof vest and security.”
It wasn’t the first time Barkley blasted San Francisco, which is the site of next year’s All Star Game.
The Hall of Famer took aim at the city during Game 4 of 2022’s Western Conference Finals between the Warriors and the Mavericks.
"The only bad thing about all this rain? It's not raining in San Francisco to clean up those dirty ass streets they got there."

The conversation was prompted by a different weather event, when the playoff game, which was held Dallas’ American Airlines Center, was getting pounded by rain.
“The only bad thing about all this rain? It’s not raining in San Francisco to clean up those dirty a** streets they got there,” Barkley remarked.
“San Francisco, it’s a great city,” he continued. “But all that dirtiness and homelessness, you all got to clean that off the streets.”
Plenty of social media users weren’t amused by Barkley’s recent hot take on the rampant crime and homelessness in the liberal city.
“Charles Barkley v. San Francisco’s homeless community is the weirdest rivalry in sports,” wrote sports anchor Marcus Fitzgerald.
“Barkley was on the real broadcast for maybe 1 min and found a way to drop the most controversial broadcast line of All-Star Weekend which is SAYING SOMETHING after last night. It’s supposed to be fun!” another complained.

Meanwhile, Fox News Contributor Leo Terell called out Bay Area Democrats for using the homeless crisis as a “key profit maker,” when he appeared on Hannity to disseminate Barkley’s commentary.
When guest host Kayleigh McEnany asked him what it would take to fix San Fransisco on Monday, Terell said that there would need to be a “complete changeover” in the city’s liberal leaders.
Though he noted that Democrats don’t actually want to end the homelessness crisis, as it is a “profit making machine,” and that the city had managed to clear out the riffraff on short notice when they needed to.
“Let me be very clear, Kayleigh, they could clean it up if they wanted to,” he stated.
“I’m old enough to remember when the Chinese president was here in San Francisco – cleaned it up!”
He also noted that Los Angeles, which is also overrun with homelessness, was able to give the city a facelift in time for the Super Bowl in 2022.
“I want people to understand, homelessness is a profit maker for Democrats,” Terell highlighted. “They campaign on it, they raise money on it.”
“They don’t want it to end, because they can use it to exploit those who are on the streets,” he concluded. “It is a profit making machine for the Democrats.”
