Rapper 50 Cent rattled social media when he posted a photo with Republican firebrand Rep. Lauren Boebert after his surprise visit to the Capitol Building.
The “In Da Club” artist, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, was on Capitol Hill Wednesday, advocating for black entrepreneurs and pushing increased representation in the alcohol industry.
Jackson, the owner of liquor company Sire Spirits, was accompanied by civil rights attorney Ben Crump.
“Mr. Jackson is one of the most successful black entrepreneurs in America,” Crump explained.

“We’re here today to talk about how he’s trying to knock down barriers of equal access and equal opportunity to have a seat at the table in all industries.”
The “Disco Inferno” rapper told reporters that he enjoyed his time speaking with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.
“My experience here has been great,” he commented. “I went to talk to them about economic opportunities for everybody, and it’s really exciting.
I’d still love you if you flipped burgers at Burger King @50Cent, I used to do that myself!

“The response I got makes me feel like that there’s bright days ahead of us.”
Jackson’s time spent with Congress made national headlines this week, not because of the purpose of his visit, but for a post he shared cosying up to a Republican lawmaker.
“Lauren Boebert, Colorado Republican making the white house look good. [smirking emoji],” he captioned a picture of the smiling pair.
Boebert responded with her own playful post, which included a line straight out of his 2003 hit “21 Questions.”
“I’d still love you if you flipped burgers at Burger King,” she wrote. “I used to do that myself! Thanks for the photo, great to meet you!”
Their exchange quickly went viral, as did commenters who were quick to admonish him for posing with the controversial Republican congresswoman.
“Why anyone would want to associate themselves with this type of a woman is beyond me,” one person replied.
“You disappoint me Curtis. Got a taste of that MAGA money, didn’t you? Sold out your principles,” a hysterical liberal wrote.
“You’re now a member of traitors and terrorists. History will no longer remember you for your music. You’ll be remembered for this,” they added.
While Boebert, a firm ally of former President Donald Trump, has faced criticism over her far-right politics, what most commenters at jeered about Jackson was her recent sex scandal.
The nearly divorced Colorado Republican made national news for getting too handsy with Democrat Quinn Gallagher at a September 2023 performance of “Beetlejuice” in Denver.
Boebert and the businessman warned to knock it off their obnoxious behavior during intermission after people at the performance grumbled about the couple singing, using their cell phones, and vaping.
After refusing to heed staffer’s warnings, the pair were kicked out of the theater a few minutes into the second act of the show.
To make matters worse, video footage was publicly released of Boebert flipping off an usher while they traipsed out into the street.
Another video showed how badly they were behaving during the performance, which included putting on a show of their own by groping each other in their seats.
“If she’s making the [White House] look good, wait till you see her at a Super 8 Motel,” someone tweeted.
“He definitely met the booberts,” another quipped. “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.”
In response to the backlash, Jackson posted a follow-up message that seemed to address another dig at Boebert.
“June 5th 2024, otherwise known as the day @50cent contracted chlamydia,” someone snarked.
“Wait, wait, guys I took pictures with everyone and all you seem to care about is Lauren,” Jackson wrote.
“What did she do in a dark theater that hasn’t been done, my God!” He added. “Hey I don’t have chlamydia by the way. LOL.”

Jackson took pictures with lawmakrers on both sides political aisle during his visit, including former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Rep. Nikema Williams (D-GA), Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas), Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY), GOP Majority Leader Steve Scalise, and others.
While speaking to Capitol Hill reporters on Wednesday, the “Power” star said he believes Black men have begun to identify with Trump after his federal conviction because “they’ve got RICO charges [too].”
The former president is has been charged with a RICO in his Georgia criminal case. RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization) charges are generally utilized in cases of alleged organized crime.
