Bryson DeChambeau, the champion of the U.S. Open, has stepped up to mediate the golf-related spat between President Biden and former President Trump that erupted during their recent debate.
DeChambeau suggested that he host a golf match to resolve their differences ahead of the election.
“Let’s settle this whole handicap debate,” DeChambeau declared in a post on X, formerly Twitter, after the presidential debate concluded on Thursday night.
“I’ll host the golf match on my YouTube,” he added, tagging them both in the post.

During the debate hosted by CNN, the two candidates hilariously took time out from politics to argue over their golf handicaps.
Responding to a question about his physical fitness, Trump, 78, boasted that he was in “very good shape.”
He cited his recent victories in two championships at one of his golf courses as evidence of his robustness.
“To do that, you have to be quite smart and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way,” Trump noted.
That’s when he took a jab at Biden, saying he “can’t hit a ball 50 yards.”
The absolute best part of tonight’s debate. Here’s an idea:

Biden countered by highlighting his own golfing prowess. “I got my handicap, when I was vice president, down to six,” Biden stated.
He then challenged Trump to a golf match, adding the stipulation that Trump must carry his own golf bag.
“Think you can do it?” asked Biden.
Biden’s handicap is listed as a 6.7, from when it was last updated in July 2018, on the United States Golf Association’s website as 6.7, with the last update in July 2018. Trump’s handicap was a 2.5 when the it was updated in June 2021.
Trump dismissed Biden’s handicap claim as “the biggest lie of all,” jeering, “I’ve seen your swing. I know your swing.”
Attempting to end the golf discussion, Trump remarked, “Let’s not act like children.” Biden quickly retorted, “You are a child.”
DeChambeau has actually golfed with Trump and complimented his game. “Very lucky to have a relationship with him, and he’s always been generous to me,” he gushed in 2022.
After securing his second major championship win in June, DeChambeau celebrated with Eric Trump, the former president’s son, by drinking wine from his trophy.
Meanwhile, Jon Stewart provided a scathing review of Biden’s debate performance during a special edition of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” following the first presidential debate.
“We know the bar that’s been set up for each to pass,” Stewart remarked about the candidates. “Biden has to not look old and not have a senior moment. Go.”
He showed a particularly disturbing moment during the debate when Biden babbled for an extended period before inexplicably stating, “We finally beat Medicare!”
His audience responded with laughter or groans as Biden spoke. Following the clip, Stewart, visibly shaken, remarked, “I need to call a real estate agent in New Zealand.”
“I’m sure it’s not something that was repeated throughout the debate that caused Democrats to jump out windows or vomit silently,” he quipped.
Continuing his critique, Stewart mocked, “Anyone can f*** up… talking.”
Beyond from the blathering talking points in Biden’s debate performance, Stewart questioned whether the President fared better when he stopped speaking.
“How did Biden do not talking?” he rhetorically asked.
The subsequent video displayed a montage of Biden with a seemingly vacant expression, with a gaping maw or his head down, while Trump was speaking.
When the show cut back to Stewart, his eyes were wide and his smile was through gritted teeth.
“Not great,” he commented after a moment. “But a lot of people have resting 25th Amendment face.”
Debate analysts noted that the split-screen setup was not a good look for Biden, as Trump often appeared present and engaged in what his opponent was spewing.
Stewart didn’t just target Biden, he went after Trump in the segment for what he perceived as lies he allegedly told during the debate.
He played a video of Trump praising his administration, which he claimed was responsible for “the greatest economy in the history of the country.”
Trump said he had a sterling record on foreign wars, and that his administration should be credit for how it handled the COVID pandemic.
He also accused the Biden administration of causing an in influx of illegal immigration and allowing migrants to gain employment.
“I didn’t have sex with a porn star,” Trump said in the final scene of the segment.
“Just so we’re all clear, everything that Donald Trump said in that clip is a lie,” Stewart remarked. “Blatant and full.”
Stewart compared how both candidates performed and suggested both should be taking stimulants to do better.
“Let me just say, after watching tonight’s debate, both of these men should be using performance-enhancing drugs,” he commented.
“I’m sorry, both. As much of it as they can get, as many times a day as their bodies will allow,” he added as the audience roared.
The comedian concluded that after watching the debate, “I could sure f***ing use some recreational ones right now.”
