Thousands of “White Dudes for Harris” huddled together on a Zoom call on Monday night to support Vice President Kamala Harris, and have been brutally mocked for their efforts.
The online event has been labeled as “cringe,” with on social media commenter noting, “It’s all about race with you guys.”
“Funny. They’ve spent the last 10 years telling us that white dudes are the source of all the world’s problems,” someone else pointed out.
While another highlighted, “Imagine if Trump started ‘White Dudes for Trump.’ The media would go crazy.”

Social media quickly became flooded with memes absolutely trashing the “White Dudes for Harris” event, with many positing that only the soft men of America would attend.
“This will be the most Beta gathering in history,” someone remarked.
Another person roasted, “If you haven’t seen any of the ‘white dudes for Harris’ memes yet, your friends don’t trust you.”

Jeff Bridges, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Mark Hamill were among the celebrities who participated in the Monday Zoom call, which was also streamed on YouTube.
Several politicians, including potential Harrris VP picks, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker also joined.
Bridges said he was “excited” about Harris’ campaign, stating that President Joe Biden had “beautifully” passed the baton to her by exiting the race.

“I can see her being president,” Bridges told fellow white dudes. “I’m so excited. A woman president, man. How exciting! And her championing of women’s rights, I’m for that.”
The actor, known for his role as The Dude in “The Big Lebowski,” quipped that he was invited to speak on the “White Dudes for Harris” call “not so much (for) being white, and I certainly am, but because I’m a dude,” adding, “I’m white, I’m a dude, and I’m for Harris.”
During his time, Buttigieg criticized Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance. Pritzker referred to Vance as Trump’s “mini-me” and told several anti-Trump jokes that fell flat.

“I even created my own cognitive test that describes the two of them: sofa, dolphin, shark, cats, convict,” he remarked and got no response.
“Now these are two men who are fundamentally unfit for the office,” he tried to recover.
Grammy-nominated singer Josh Groban noted that “as a white guy,” when “the world has been built for you,” it can be “so much easier” not express political views.

“It’s easy to assume somebody else will step up,” but “I am proud to raise my hand and to say that this is something that I believe so fully in,” Groban said. “I’m so excited by the galvanizing of the Harris campaign.”
Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt denounced former President Donald Trump on the call as a “con man” who won’t “look out for middle class, working class, ordinary American people,” saying that’s why “we need a president who can prosecute con men like this.”
“He’ll screw over everybody, just like every con man does, and if he’s going to help anybody, it’s going to be guys like him: rich and powerful people, helping them get more rich and powerful,” he claimed about Trump.

This isn’t the first time Gordon-Levitt has called out Trump. The actor went viral for criticizing the former president during an interview with fellow actor Kevin Bacon earlier this month.
Gordon-Levitt was asked what “real-life crimes” have fascinated him, and the actor decided to “just go for it.”
“How about when the former president called up an election official in Georgia and said, ‘You need to change the votes, 11,000, so I can win and I’m the president and you need to do this’?” he remarked.
The “Inception” star was referencing Trump’s call with Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s Secretary of State, about the election results.

Bacon agreed that the call was “a real-life crime,” and Gordon-Levitt addressed the audience directly.
“That is a real-life crime, yeah. Come at me. Go ahead. I know you’re pissed,” he taunted. “But let’s just talk about the fact that the former president is a full-on criminal.”
At the gathering of white dudes, “The Lord of the Rings” star Sean Astin expressed his delight to elect a “qualified, tested, proven woman into the presidency, so that all girls for all time can know that that’s possible.”

“The idea that men can gather to talk about how we feel. It’s powerful. And everyone is welcome,” he commented, then lauded Harris’ Senate record.
“Kamala Harris smiles, she laughs, she dances, she has joy, she’s alive and they try and ridicule her for that,” Astin stated.
“This is a serious person who can prosecute a tough case against people when she’s in the Senate,” he continued.

‘Star Wars’ actor Mark Hamill lauded Biden administration as “the most legislatively successful administration since Franklin Delano Roosevelt” and called on fellow white dudes to “stand up to (Trump’s) mental illness.”
“The West Wing” star Bradley Whitford noted that he has been participating in campaigns in his native Wisconsin for most of his life, and has “never felt this kind of enthusiasm ever.”
“This is so far from a sure thing,” he cautioned. “We have to seize this moment.”
“Frozen” actor Josh Gad said that he cried over his children the night of the 2016 election because he “felt like I let them down” after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lost to Trump.
“That feeling of dread, and that feeling of fear, and that feeling of shame is not something I’m ever willing or able to allow myself to feel again,” he stated.
Former NSYNC star Lance Bass said he was “so hopeful” about Harris’ campaign.
“As a white guy, it’s easy to think these issues don’t affect us directly, but that’s exactly why we need to pay attention,” he remarked.
During the three-hour call, white dudes were urged to donate to the Harris campaign and raised more than $4 million.
When the meeting began, the call’s organizer, Ross Morales Rocketto, noted that people “uncomfortable” with the “White Dudes for Harris” idea because “throughout American history, when white men have organized, it was often with pointy hats on.”
But he explained, “the reason that we are doing this is because the left has been ceding white men to the MAGA right for way, way too long.”
The “White Dudes for Harris” account was briefly suspended from X, formerly Twitter, sparking outrage online.
It is not clear why the account was suspended, but it appeared to have been restored as of the early hours of Tuesday.
No reason was given for the account’s suspension other than, “X suspends accounts which violate the X rules.”
The account was restored on Tuesday morning, but fellow organizer Mike Nellis said that despite being live again, the account is “permanently in read-only mode,” and can’t make posts.
Event organizers criticized X owner Elon Musk for the suspension, which they said was election interference.
Rocketto wrote, “Got @elonmusk scared.”
“This is the real election interference,” posted Brett Meiselas.
Liberal social media commentator Mueller, She Wrote said, “The ‘free speech absolutist’ has now suspended White @dudes4harris. Presumably for raising $4M in a few hours. The fascists are terrified. Good.”
