Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina filmed an intense confrontation with a man wearing very short shorts who approached her while she was shopping in a beauty store.
In a video posted to her own social media account, Mace, 47, could be heard arguing with a man later identified as Ely Murray Quick, inside an Ulta Beauty store in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
In the video, which was recorded on Saturday, he asked Mace if she would be hosting an in-person town hall in her congressional district.
“Do you want to keep going? You want to keep harassing me? You could have gone to a dozen town halls last year,” Mace shot back.
Some unhinged lunatic, a man, wearing daisy dukes, at a makeup store, got in my face today. Dems are nuts. So I went off – and I won’t be backing down.

“I asked if you were doing any this year. It was one simple question,” Murray-Quick countered, to which Mace stated, “I’ve done one this year, I’ll do plenty more.”
After further bickering about town hall meetings, Mace told him, “By the way, I voted for gay marriage twice.”
“What does that have to do with me?” he questioned. “You think everything about me has to do with gay marriage?”
“I do, absolutely,” Mace retorted. “If you want to get in my face about town halls, you should have shown up to one last year.”
Mace asked why he hadn’t been at town hall meeting in the past before getting even more heated.
“Where were you before that or the year before that? Oh, because you know what? Because you people on the left are crazy. You’re absolutely f***ing crazy,” she continued. “And get out of my face.”

The man then laughed in her face and said, “You’re insane,” to which Mace flippantly replied, “F*** you.”
“You’re going to be voted out so fast this year,” he sniped back.
“I’m not. I’m not. I won by so much,”‘ Mace spat.
“You’re a disgrace to this state,” Murray-Quick hissed while walking away.
“I asked you a simple question and you just go on this tirade and tell me f*** you? You’re disgusting. F*** you. You’re a nasty bitch.”
“You couldn’t take me on baby,” she said, getting in the last word. “Stay the f— away from me.”
When she shared the video, Mace said that an “unhinged lunatic, a man, wearing daisy dukes, at a makeup store got in my face today.”
“Dems are nuts. So I went off – and I won’t be backing down,” her tweet continued.
“I hold the line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Try me.”
Murray-Quick shared a statement with the Post and Courier about the incident.

“This is about a simple question asked in public, with video evidence that shows Nancy responding before spiraling into a public meltdown,” he said.
“She wasn’t interrupted, insulted, or blocked from exiting Ulta,” he added.
In a Facebook message, Murray-Quick said he “won’t apologize for speaking up,” or for “asking a politician to do her job.”
I said it before and I’ll say it again. Hold. The. Line.

Mace discussed the video on Monday’s episode of Fox News’ Hannity, saying that she was just trying to buy some face wash, when she was approached by Murray-Quick.
The congresswoman said the confrontation left her feeling “threatened” and “harassed.”
“When some guy gets in your face and approaches you in the aggressive manner that he did, and you feel like you’re in danger, instinctively as women,” she began.
“You have two options, you can fight or you can flee,” Mace continued. “And I’ve never backed down from a fight and I will stand my ground like a strong woman should.”
The South Carolina lawmaker said the incident at Ulta Beauty was the third “in the last week,” which have included “threats of violence.”
“The people coming up and harassing me in public has increased exponentially over the last six months, since I came out standing up against the trans community,” she explained.
Mace noted that the full confrontation was not recorded, because she was “fumbling around with her phone.”

Mace also told Sean Hannity another incident, which has since went viral after she posted it to X on Monday.
She said that a confrontation occurred during an event at the University of South Carolina earlier that day, when a “man in a dress picked up a potted plant” and acted like he was going to throw it at her.
Mace said that she used the words “babe” and “trans,” which he was offended by.
In the video, a man in a yellow dress and sun hat asks if Mace’s husband calls her babe, when she responds that she’s not married and doesn’t care, the man asks for an apology.
“Is tra**y derogatory to you?” Mace shoots back. Then in an insanely deep masculine voice, the man says, “Well, yeah. Of course it f***ing is.”
Mace taunts “Tra**y, tra**y, tra**y,” which causes the man to pick up a nearby plant and for her security to step in before the clip cuts off.
“These lunatics on the left, they’re dangerous and women need to stand up for themselves,” she noted.
Mace said she has decided to start filming all of the public confrontations she endures, because she doesn’t “condone” the type of aggression the people attacking her are displaying.
