Washed up liberal actor John Cusack is under fire for supporting Iran’s relentless pursuit of nuclear weapons and suggesting that they deserve to have them.
The “Grosse Pointe Blank” star, known for his unhinged anti-Trump commentary and frequent tirades against U.S. foreign policy, stunned his many followers on Friday with an insane hot take on X.
“Iran will surely rush to get a nuclear weapon — and they should get one,” he tweeted.
“It’s the only way to deter US and Israel from bombing every country in Middle East.”

Cusack’s post landed after President Trump ordered precision airstrikes targeting three Iranian nuclear facilities.
On June 21, U.S. B-2 stealth bombers reportedly dropped 30,000-pound bunker-busting bombs on suspected nuclear development sites. Trump hailed the mission as “a spectacular military success.”
While the airstrikes reportedly did not cripple Iran’s nuclear capability, rather only set it back a few months, according to Reuters, the 12 day war between Iran and Israel is seemingly over for now.
Despite the ceasefire, Cusack has been deeply critical of both the United States and Israeli government online.
“Blind allegiance for Israel is alliance to a genocidal regeme [sic] — it’s a nation state — run [by] a murderous gangster — not some fixed star,” he recently posted.

Cusack has also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of targeting children and the U.S. of enabling him.
Commenting on airstrikes in Lebanon, he wrote, “[Israel] bombs Lebanon! [W]ell they can’t have any days when they are not illegally bombing someone while US grovels.”
In another post, Cusack called democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani’s political win a “f— you to billionaires, dem establishment, and the genocide in Gaza — the bombing of Iran.”
The actor also claimed that Israeli soldiers are murdering Palestinians seeking aid and accused Democratic lawmakers of being silent on the matter.
The fact that so many in the dem party will not speak out and work every day to stop this genocide – Should haunt them for the rest of their lives – and end their political careers –

“If seeing starving people and children shredded by anti tank guns and babies gunned down by snipers – if THAT doesn’t force you to confront the regime [committing] the genocide nothing will,” he added.
On Tuesday, the president shared that Israel had agreed to a 60-day ceasefire proposal and encouraged Hamas to take the deal.

“Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War,” Trump announced on Truth Social.
“The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.”
President Trump also confirmed plans to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House next week, saying he would be “very firm” on the urgency of achieving a Gaza ceasefire.
“We hope it’s going to happen. And we’re looking forward to it happening sometime next week,” Trump said while speaking to reporters during a Florida trip. “We want to get the hostages out.”

Cusack, who has 1.8 million followers on X, was met with some harsh criticism after suggesting Iran should get a nuke.
“They’re going to keep trying and the B2’s will keep blowing them up,” one user replied.
“People like you, talking down to us from on high, have no idea how any of this works,” another user said.
“You are advocating for a country to have nukes that clearly hates you. I know that you are nothing more than a paid liar but how on earth could you be this dumb?”
Others were more blunt. “Are you that clueless? Iran has been shouting ‘Death to America’ 46 years, you think they don’t mean it? WTF is wrong with you. Iran is not developing nukes for s**ts and giggles.”
One commenter advised Cusack to move to Iran himself, saying, “Please move there and assist them.”
Another jabbed, “Stick with making really really bad movies. It’s the only thing you’re good at.”
And one user asked the question many seemed to be thinking: “Are you on a terrorist watchlist yet?”
