President Donald Trump blasted the Super Bowl LX halftime performance as “one of the worst, EVER,” calling it a disgrace to American standards and values.
“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.”
He especially took umbrage that the performance was sung completely in Spanish and featured dozens of gyrating dancers.
“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Completely Agree With President Trump!

“This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!” Trump said about his economic wins.
Trump noted that despite his scathing critique, main-stream media would fawn over the Super Bowl spectacle.

“There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD,” he predicted.
“And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump concluded.
The halftime spotlight belonged to Latin trap star Bad Bunny, and the performance was billed as the first Super Bowl show expected to be sung entirely in Spanish.
Pop star Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance and performed the Bruno Mars hit “Die With a Smile,” altering the expected format.

Bad Bunny took the field wearing a mock football jersey reading “Ocasio 64.” Observers noted that “Ocasio” is his last name, and some suggested the number referenced the initial reported death toll from Hurricane Maria before it was revised to nearly 3,000.
Another theory claims that it references the 64th United States Congress, which passed the act that granted statutory citizenship to Puerto Ricans in 1917.
Or it could be a more personal reference to the 64th Grammy Awards, where his hit “Un Verano Sin Ti” was the first ever Spanish-language album to be nominated for the album of the year award.

The artist delivered one line in English during the set. “God bless America!” he said to the crowd.
Bad Bunny shouted the phrase before naming a string of other countries, including Canada, as performers behind him waved flags that appeared limited to North and South American nations.
Levi’s Stadium’s video screen displayed a message in black letters that read, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”

Some viewers turned away from the NFL broadcast and chose Turning Point USA’s “All-American” halftime show instead.
Kid Rock headlined the alternative event, and Pro Football Hall of Famers Eric Dickerson and Brett Favre joined former ESPN host Sage Steele among those who attended.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that Trump favored the alternative broadcast.

“I think the president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny. I must say that,” Leavitt told reporters at Thursday’s White House press briefing.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell defended the league’s decision earlier in the week and framed the performance as a unifying moment.
“Listen, Bad Bunny is, and I think that was demonstrated last night, one of the great artists in the world and that’s one of the reasons we chose him,” Goodell said.

“But the other reason is he understood the platform he was on and this platform is used to unite people and to be able to bring people together with their creativity, with their talents and to be able to use this moment to do that and I think artists in the past have done that,” he noted.
“I think Bad Bunny understands that and I think he’ll have a great performance.”
Political overtones did not stop with the halftime show. Rock band Green Day stirred controversy during Super Bowl weekend with pointed remarks aimed at immigration enforcement.

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong used a pregame Spotify event to target ICE agents and warn them about the future.
“I have a message for ICE agents, wherever you are… Quit that sh—y job you have because when this is over — and it will be over at some point in time — Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, J.D. Vance, Donald Trump, they’re going to drop you like a bad f—g habit,” he said at the event.

Armstrong also modified lyrics during a performance at San Francisco’s Pier 29. While singing “Holiday,” he changed the line from “the representative from California has the floor” to “the representative from Epstein Island has the floor.”
He dedicated the same song by stating, “This goes out to Minneapolis,” and altered “American Idiot” lyrics to sing “I’m not part of the MAGA agenda.”
NBC faced accusations of censoring Green Day during the Super Bowl introduction show.
The band performed a medley from its 2005 album American Idiot, and during the title track, the lyric “the subliminal mind-f–k America” appeared garbled on the broadcast feed.
The weekend also featured a tribute during the alternative halftime event.
Turning Point USA’s broadcast paused to honor founder Charlie Kirk as Kid Rock closed his set.
Photos of Kirk, his wife Erika, and their children filled the video boards while one of Kirk’s speeches played over the stage.
The screens carried the message, “In remembrance of Charlie Kirk.” Kirk was assassinated in September during a speech at Utah Valley University.
