“Cheers” star Kelsey Grammer acknowledged that he still supports former President Donald Trump, which ultimately led to his radio interview’s abrupt conclusion.
The “Jesus Revolution” actor was being interviewed by BBC Radio Justin Webb in a presser for the reboot of his hit show “Frasier.”
The studio that produces the show, Paramount, quickly cut off the discussion once Grammer opened up about his affinity for Trump.
In the course of discussing his career, Grammer revealed that the relaunch of his celebrated show “Frasier,” which ran from 1993 to 2004, was inspired by Roseanne Barr, according to Deadline.

In a previous interview with Fox News Digital, he noted that her show “Roseanne,” which was later changed to “The Conners,” after her controversial remarks about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, was surprisingly popular.
“I was surprised that show lit up the way it did,” he said about Roseanne’s show. “But, you know, she’s an extraordinary person.”
He mentioned that Barr “ran into a little bit of trouble,” but said that society was “a little silly about all this stuff,” and only had kind words about the comedian.
“She is a great exemplar of comedy, of an ability to make people laugh, that you still think, ‘You know what, people always want to laugh.’”
Grammer said it was the early success of the “Roseanne” reboot that inspired him to bring back Frasier Crane.
“And so I started to think, ‘Yeah, it’s time.’ Frasier certainly is as interesting as the Roseanne character or any number of other shows,” he commented. “And I thought, we can find a way for this to happen.”
It was when Webb mentioned that Barr was a supporter of Trump that the BBC interview took an abrupt turn.
Webb seized the opportunity to inquire whether Grammer still endorsed the former president.
Grammer’s response was so conclusive, it literally left no room for further discussion.
The actor chuckled as he stated, “I am, and I’ll let that be the end of it.”
With those words, the recording promptly ceased, abruptly concluding the interview.
Webb later shed light on the situation, highlighting Grammer’s willingness to delve further into the topic.
“I have to say, actually, Kelsey Grammer himself was perfectly happy to go on talking about it,” the radio host remarked.
However, the PR representatives from Paramount+ appeared less pleased with Grammer’s extended commentary, signaling that clearance had not been granted for the full interview to be aired.
“Anyway, they decided that we had plenty of time for our interview,” he added.
“But I should stress that he was absolutely perfectly happy to talk about why he supports Donald Trump and still does in the coming election,” Webb signed off.
Grammer previously praised Trump in a 2019 interview with PBS’s Christiane Amanpour.
Amanpour called the actor a “rare Hollywood beast” for being a conservative who voted for Trump, and asked him if he took a career hit for his political affiliation.
“I’m not aware of taking a hit for it but now, certainly passions run high, and certainly he has touched on an extraordinarily passionate response,” he answered. “I don’t know if it’s as serious or horrible as everybody wants it to be.”
He also said that politicians haven’t been looking out for American’s best interests, and noted that he didn’t believe they have “been helping anybody but themselves.”
“I don’t think Washington didn’t do us any favors for the last 50, 60 years,” he told Amanpour.
“I think they’ve all been sort of the same party, the same bunch of clowns, the same bunch of really unpleasant people.”
Meanwhile, Roseanne Barr sounded off on her cancellation in a recent interview on Bill Maher‘s “Club Random” podcast.
The host called out the actress for making what was “certainly” a racist tweet, when she wrote if the “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = [Jarrett].”
Bill Maher labeling Roseanne Barr tweet about Valerie Jarrett as “racist”.
“If you can’t take a joke fuck you, you fascist.” 🤣

Barr said it was not racist because she didn’t know that Jarrett was black. “I thought the b***h was white,” she insisted.
“I know that’s what you thought, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t racist because obviously…” he shot back.
“If she looks just like the fucking picture…” Barr retorted.
“You’re not going to get yourself out of this by reiterating that,” Maher stated.
Barr noted that “everybody in power” has to be made fun of, and anybody who can’t take a joke is a “fascist.”
She said that she doesn’t care about the color of any politician’s skin, only the fact that that they are not “doing right” by the country when people are sleeping in the streets.
“I don’t give a f**k about your feelings. You are offensive to me,” she concluded. “You better take care of people living and dying in these streets. F**k off.”
