Talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw aired his concerns about how poorly the Biden administration is handling the “insane” situation at the southern border.
McGraw told Rebel News that he felt compelled to personally inspect the border situation in Texas and witness firsthand the extent of unauthorized immigration that’s been at the center of intense political debate.
He reported a staggering statistic during his visit, asserting that “More than six million illegal immigrants have crossed Texas Southern border in just three years.”
His data was spot on with the numbers that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have released about migrants flooding over the U.S.-Mexico border.

CBP reports showed 2,045,838 illegal immigrant encounters for the fiscal year of 2023, with 2,206,436 in 2022, and 1,659,206 in 2021.
Since the beginning of 2024 alone, a staggering 380,000 unauthorized people have crossed over the southern border, making the total of migrants who have gotten into the United States under Biden’s watch a staggering 6,291,480.
The television personality took particular issue with the federal government’s handling of the surge in border crossings, which has sparked contentious legal disputes with Texas officials regarding deterrent measures like the use of razor wire.
McGraw singled out the tension between Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Biden administration, criticizing what he considered the federal government’s inadequate response to what he dubbed a “humanitarian crisis.”
McGraw specifically targeted Vice President Kamala Harris’s performance as the “Immigration Czar,” arguing that she was virtually absent from addressing the matter since she took on the role.
“Guess how many times she’s been to the border? Once,” he stated.
McGraw reported that Texas Governor Greg Abbott believes that the Biden administration’s actions have “broken the pact between the United States federal government and the states.”
“Governor Abbott says President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and has even violated them,” he commented.
He said that Abbott has accused Biden of enticing “tens of thousands of illegal immigrants” away from the state’s 28 legal entry points, and instead encouraged them to get into the country through the “dangerous deadly waters of the Rio Grande.”
“The result is a humanitarian crisis, unlike anything we’ve seen before, smashing records for illegal immigration by wasting taxpayer dollars to tear open Texas border security infrastructure,” the television host stated plainly.
In a Monday night interview with Hannity, he said that the White House is violating “one of the most fundamental psychological principles” with their border policies, sanctuary cites, and cash handouts to asylum seekers by rewarding “bad behavior.”
In California, undocumented immigrants of all ages receive free heath insurance, which costs state tax payers an astounding $2.6 billion.
While Democrat “sanctuary” New York City is piloting a $53 million program that will hand out and recurrently fund pre-paid credit cards to feed migrant families to the tune of about $1,000 a month.

McGraw also gave Hannity some disturbing insights about the actual figures of people illegally crossing into the country after his discussions with Border Patrol agents.
“We hear this number, 6 million people have come across under the current administration,” he noted.
“I talked to experts down there that say that number is a myth, that it’s closer to 13 million to 14 million that have come across.”
When he asked the agents what they required to be able to perform their jobs, McGraw was “shocked” by their answers.
Border Patrol agents told him that they don’t need any more money, resources, officers, or legislation to get the situation under control.
“We just need the laws that are on the books to be followed,” they explained to him. “We need to be allowed to do our job and we can get this under control right now.”
McGraw found it particularly astonishing how immigrants responded differently to state versus federal agents.
Encounters with state officers in brown uniforms, representing the Texas Department of Public Safety, led to arrests and deportation.
In contrast, interactions with federal officers in green uniforms, as worn by federal agents, resulted in financial assistance and delayed court appointments, a discrepancy that bewildered him.
“So you see these groups coming across, and if they see a brown uniform, they hide,” he told Hannity. “They see a green uniform, they run toward it. That to me is just insane.”
