Former Star Trek: The Next Generation star LeVar Burton trolled members of of congress over the cat fight that broke out Thursday night’s House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing.
On Friday, Burton, who previously hosted children’s show Reading Rainbow, tweeted: ““Words of the day; bleach, blond, bad, built, butch and body.”
The post referenced remarks Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) made about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) after they got into an embarrassing verbal sparring match that went so off the rails, that Sen. John Fetterman claimed it was worse than an episode of “The Jerry Springer Show”.
“In the past, I’ve described the U.S. House as ‘The Jerry Springer Show,’” the Fetterman began in Friday post on X, formerly Twitter.

“Today, I’m apologizing to ‘The Jerry Springer Show,’” he added wryly.
The Pennsylvania Democrat’s comparison of the hearing to the the often trashy 1990s daytime talk show was surprisingly apt after the chaos lawmakers descended into on Thursday night.
Things got especially spicy during the meeting to decide if Attorney General Merrick Garland should be held in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over audio files of President Joe Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur in his classified documents investigation.
Greene kicked off the spat when she asked “if any of the Democrats on this committee are employing (Trump hush money) Judge Merchan’s daughter.”
“Please tell me what that has to do with Merrick Garland,” Crockett questioned drolly.
“Oh, Goldman. That’s right. He’s advising. Ok,” Greene replied in reference Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) who Merchan’s political consultant daughter’s firm has done previous work for.
Crockett heatedly asked if Greene knew what the session was being held for, who slung back an insult about the Texas Democrat’s “fake eyelashes.”
That’s when Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) chimed into to defend her fellow Democrat. “I do have a point of order. And I would like to move to take down Ms. Greene’s words,” she hissed.
“That is absolutely unacceptable! How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person,” Ocasio-Cortez blasted.
“Are your feelings hurt?” Greene taunted, to which the New York Democrat screamed back, “Move her words down!”
“Aww,” Greene cackled, to which Ocasio-Cortez shot back, “Oh! Girl, baby, girl!”
“Oh, really?” Greene needled her. “Don’t even play!” Ocasio-Cortez retorted.
“Baby, girl? I don’t think so,” Greene clapped back.
“We are gonna move and we are gonna take your words down,” Ocasio-Cortez reiterated.
Greene relented and said she’d “strike her words,” but refused to apologize for them and offered to debate Ocasio-Cortez, who rejected the challenge outright.
Crockett got in her own licks later in the hearing. “I’m just curious. To better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?” She mocked.
Ocasio-Cortez fired back at Fetterman on social media. “I understand you likely would not have stood up for your colleague and seem to be confused about racism and misogyny being a ‘both sides’ issue,” she remarked. “But I stand up to bullies, instead of becoming one.”
Crockett has since attempted to literally capitalize on the insane hearing by creating apparel that references her jab at Greene.
“So we are going to drop ‘A Crockett Clapback Collection.’ This collection will feature various swag that includes random things I’ve said,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) tweeted on Saturday.
“The money will go to ensuring that we have a Democratic House! Give me a little time to really get the swag online etc.”

The post features an image of a man dressed in a black shirt that reads: “bleach blonde bad built butch body.”
Eagle-eyed internet users were quick to point out that the Texas lawmaker was in such a rush to profit off of her “clapback” swag, that she failed to spell her own last name correctly.
“Who’s Crockrtt???” one person replied to the announcement for her collection.
“Order a shirt and you will see,” she snapped back.
