“Judge Judy” Sheindlin dismissed the hush money case against former President Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg as “nonsense,” and liberals are furious.
Sheindlin criticized the case during her interview on “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” which began streaming on Max on Friday.
“You gotta twist yourself into a pretzel to figure out what the crime was,” she said, suggesting Bragg’s personal dislike for Trump influenced the case. “[Bragg] doesn’t like him… New York City didn’t like him for a while.”
She went after Bragg for his soft on crime tenure as New York’s top prosecutor, which he seems to have proven yet again by dropping charges against nearly all of the anti-Israel protestors who occupied Columbia University’s campus.

Bragg’s office dismissed cases against 31 of 46 people who were arrested for trespassing in Columbia’s Hamilton Hall on April 30, citing a lack of evidence against the protesters.
“I would be happier, as someone who owns property in Manhattan, if the district attorney of New York County would take care of criminals who were making it impossible for citizens to walk in the streets and use the subway,” she said about Bragg.
“To use his efforts to keep those people off the street, than to spend $5 million or $10 million of taxpayers’ money trying Donald Trump on this nonsense.”

Last month, Trump was found guilty of all 34 counts related to falsifying business records during his 2016 campaign to hide an alleged affair with adult film actress Stormy Daniels, marking him as the first former U.S. president to be convicted of a felony.
“I, as a taxpayer in this country, resent using the system for your own personal self-aggrandizement,” Sheindlin commented about Bragg.
When asked what her feelings about Trump were, the “Judy Justice” acknowledged his business acumen, but questioned his suitability for the presidency.
“I think he was a good businessman, a real estate guy. And he was certainly terrific on ‘The Apprentice,’” she noted.
Sheindlin, who supported former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley earlier this year, told Wallace, “I don’t think that Donald ever should have been president.”
“And I don’t think that even Donald thought he was going to be president,” she concluded.
Judge Judy said it best:

Sheindlin’s comments have sparked outrage among Trump critics on social media.
“Judge Judy is literally telling the world that keeping her taxes lower is more important than democracy,” one person responded to a clip of the interview. “Disheartening and [loathsome] at the same time.”
“I always knew Judge Judy was trash. Can’t believe it took this long for people to find out,” a liberal commentator added.
Ryan Shead, host of the “Hold the Mic” podcast, criticized Sheindlin on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “When EVERYONE around someone like Trump starts going to prison for covering for him, that person is likely guilty too.”
“Judy also just sh** on the judicial system and jury that convicted Trump on ALL COUNTS. They seemed to come to their conclusion quickly,” Shead added.
Meanwhile, conservative commentators praised the television judge for her hot take on the Trump trial.
“Let’s face it, Judge Judy is all of us,” someone wrote. “The Trump Trial was a farce and a complete waste of taxpayer money.”
“Judge Judy, who’s beloved for taking no nonsense and telling it like it is, tells it like is about the nonsense that was Trump’s Manhattan trial,” another added.
“Democrats are going after Judge Judy calling her trash for wanting criminals off the street of Manhattan and as a politician not to use taxpayer money for your own personal gain,” someone with common sense tweeted.
“How could anyone be mad about that? What has this country come to?”
Meanwhile, Bragg apparently wants to keep Trump muzzled even though the trial has concluded.
Trump requested the gag order be lifted on June 11, but Bragg’s office countered on Friday that Trump should remain restricted in commenting on the Judge Juan Merchan, jurors, prosecutors, and their family members.
Prosecutors did agree Trump could comment on witnesses like Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels.
However, regarding the judge, prosecutors, and their families, they suggested Trump could request the gag order be lifted after his July 11 sentencing, at which time they would review his arguments.
Prosecutors justified the continued gag order, citing Trump’s persistent accusations since the he was found guilty, including claims that Bragg was working with President Biden to limit Trump’s speech during the June 27 presidential debate.
Trump’s lawyers countered by pointing to the prosecution’s request to respond by June 24, accusing them of delaying to avoid court decisions before the debate.
“As defendant’s continued conduct makes clear, the need to protect participants in this criminal proceeding and the integrity of the criminal justice process from defendant’s attacks remains critically important,” prosecutors asserted.
