Comedian Bill Maher ripped on Vice President Kamala Harris for being Democrats “Plan B,” and proving to be unpopular amongst voters in the past.
“On the Democrats’ best issue, abortion, she’s a walking reminder to women that Republicans are coming for the abortion pill,” he told said on the Friday broadcast of his titular HBO show. “She won’t just protect Plan B, she is Plan B.”
“Harris would be the first woman president, the first black woman president, and the first Asian president. But I don’t vote for who will be the first. I vote for who will win,” he continued.
Maher also pointed out that Harris did extremely poorly when she tried to become the Democratic nominee during the last election.

“And for whatever reason, Harris has never been popular,” he stated. “You can count the number of delegates she won in the 2020 primaries on one hand.”
“As long as that hand has no fingers,” the “Real Time” host quipped.
Maher also criticized her career as a California prosecutor and her failings as the border czar, which were echoed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The Republican lawmaker cautioned that electing a “San Francisco Democrat” like Harris would the country just like San Francisco and California have been decimated by fellow far-left politicians.
During a Monday interview on Newsmax, DeSantis was asked about Harris’ media honeymoon phase and how long it might last.
“This is all the way until the election, assuming she gets the nomination at the convention, which it looks more and more likely that she will,” he remarked.
“I’ve said that they were going to remove Biden. They did. And I also said if Kamala face-planted, that they would try to do plan B.”
DeSantis believes that Harris has managed to “coalesce a lot of support” and raise plenty of money, so the media has concluded that she’s going to be the Democratic nominee.
“They are going to do whatever they can to drag her across the finish line,” he noted.
He derided Harris for being “as vapid a politician” as there is, and said the liberal media was trying “turn her into a cultural phenomenon.”
“They’re trying to make fetch happen,” he quipped in throwback to 2004’s “Mean Girls.”
DeSantis expressed confidence that most Americans are “too smart” to fall for the media’s rebranding of Harris.
“At the end of the day, Harris is a leftist San Francisco Democrat,” he continued.
DeSantis added that the city’s liberal lawmakers have “destroyed” San Francisco, and “wrecked” the whole state of California.
“Why on earth would we want to have a San Francisco Democrat in the Oval Office to dig our country even into a deeper hole than Biden is already leaving us?” he questioned.
On Tuesday, members of the top members of the DNC announced that Harris was the sole candidate who garnered enough delegates to qualify for the virtual roll call to nominate their official presidential candidate, which is set to begin on Thursday.
Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison and Democratic National Convention Chair Minyon Moore revealed that Harris had secured 3,923 delegates, making her the only candidate under consideration.
The virtual roll call will commence on Thursday morning and conclude on Monday.
“Democratic delegates nationwide made their voices heard, overwhelmingly backing Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee,” Harrison and Moore stated in a joint announcement.
“As we prepare to open the voting on our virtual roll call, we move to this final stage of our nomination process with unprecedented momentum and unity across our party.”
Should Harris win the virtual roll call, she will be the official nominee prior to the Democratic National Convention, which starts on August 19 in Chicago.
The same day, Harris’s campaign released a new video targeting Trump over the U.S. southern border following a Trump ad going after the “border czar.”
The 50-second video claims that Harris aims to increase border patrol agents, invest in technology to stop fentanyl from flooding into the country, and allocate funds to fight human traffickers, whereas Trump opposed bipartisan legislation that would have achieved these goals.
“There are two choices in this election, the one who will fix our broken immigration system and the one who’s trying to stop her,” the video declares.
“Kamala Harris prosecuted transnational gang members and got them sentenced to prison; Trump is trying to avoid being sentenced to prison,” the ad stated.
Earlier in the day, the Trump campaign launched an ad focusing on immigration and labeled Harris as the Biden administration’s failed “border czar.”

“Under Harris, over 10 million illegally here. A quarter of a million Americans dead from fentanyl. Brutal migrant crimes. And ISIS – now here,” the ad’s narrator says.
Harris rallied supporters in Georgia on Tuesday, by criticizing Trump for backing out of a November debate after “probably” agreeing to debate her in September.
“Well Donald, I do hope you’ll reconsider and meet me on the debate stage because as the saying goes, if you’ve got something to say, say it to my face,” she told the crowd.
“Trump didn’t survive…because of divine intervention. He survived because a virgin couldn’t hit the fattest President since Taft – again, make no mistake, I’m glad he couldn’t. Meanwhile, Maher expressed his frustration with the religious fervor surrounding Trump following an assassination attempt at his Pennsylvania rally on July 13.
“Since the bullet meant for Donald Trump missed him last Saturday, Republicans have indulged in an orgy of magical thinking,” Maher said during one of his latest shows.
He cited a post from YouTuber Jake Paul who called Trump “one of God’s angels” and an image Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar tweeted, showing God guiding the bullet away from Trump’s head.
“Steve Scalise said, ‘Yesterday there were miracles, and I think the hand of God was there too.’ Steve was also shot, but God was having an off day,” Maher wisecracked.
“America doesn’t need a demigod,” Maher stated. “MAGA Nation, because they are religious by nature and given to magical thinking, are trending towards demigod worship.”
“But Trump didn’t survive the attempt on his life because of divine intervention,” he teed up. “He survived because a virgin couldn’t hit the fattest president since Taft.”
Maher clarified that he was “glad” that shooter Thomas Crooks “couldn’t,” but noted that Trump was still alive “because he’s the single luckiest individual who has ever lived.”
