A Texas man became an internet sensation after he bid on a signed Taylor Swift guitar only to destroy it as soon as the instrument was handed to him.
Footage of this unidentified man gained widespread attention on Monday as people across the world watched the seemingly politically charged moment.
The auction was held at the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner in deep-red Texas, where the elderly man bid $4,000 and won the guitar.
As soon as the unidentified man took possession of the instrument in front of the event’s attendees, he viciously took a hammer to it.

Laughing manically, the man repeatedly struck the guitar, obliterating it completely. He was even about to raise the instrument over his head and smashed it on the ground, but the auctioneer stopped him.
“Now take that and hang up that busted thing,” he sent the man off with the destroyed guitar.
After the damage was done, someone else handed the auction winner a certificate of authenticity, confirming he really had obliterated an authentic Taylor Swift guitar.

It turned out that the guitar had been donated by a third party and wasn’t meant to be destroyed, but as soon as it became his property, the winner took matters into his own hands.
A TikTok account that posted the video added the caption, “Guy bought a signed Taylor Swift guitar at a live auction for $4,000, only to destroy it.
The poster added a series of hashtags including #trump2024, #taylornation, and #trumptrain, amongst others.
A witness who attended the event, Rob Bartley, told The Independent, “A Taylor Swift guitar had sold at another event unrelated to this earlier in the year, so it wasn’t an unheard of type of item to auction.”
Bartley noted that when the winner announced he was going to smash the instrument was the moment that the “camera phones came out.”
“‘It was unexpected, but not surprising,” he added. “This part of Texas leans heavily conservative and the Biden/Harris administration isn’t held in high regard.”
Bartley said that a lot of working class residents in the area believe that the Biden-Harris administration has “gone from not working for us to working against us.”
Swift had endorsed the vice president immediately following the first debate between Harris and Trump.
A few days later, Trump took to Truth Social posting, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Meanwhile, former NFL star Antonio Brown once again went after the pop star over her relationship with tight end Travis Kelce this weekend.
Swift, who has become a fixture at Kansas City Chiefs games since she began dating Kelce last season, missed her second straight game when they faced off with the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.
Kelce has had an uncharacteristically rocky start to the season, but turned it around with seven receptions and 89 yards on Sunday.
In an antagonistic post, Brown referred disparagingly to Swift’s genitalia, before saying that Kelce should dump her for a black woman.

This isn’t the first time Brown has went after Swift amid her relationship with the Kansas City star. Earlier this year, he antagonized her fan base with an AI-generated cartoon of himself kissing Swift.
“Move over Jizelle, what these Swifties talkin bout? #CTESPN,” he posted on X, formerly Twitter, referring to Tom Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, who he has infamously trolled.
He caused the couple further irritation a few months later by posting an AI generated photo of the couple aged significantly in 2040.
Recently, Brown took jab at Swift after she was seen with her friend Brittany Mahomes, the Trump
supporting wife of Kansas City Chief’s quarterback Patrick Mahomse, at the US Open, writing, “White People for Trump” alongside a photo of them hugging.
