Former Vice President Kamala Harris is already making headlines with her next career move following the end of her 2024 presidential campaign—she’s teaming up with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), a major Hollywood talent agency.
The partnership hints at Harris focusing on speaking engagements and book deals, as announced by CAA.
The agency shared in a statement that they will collaborate with Harris “in all areas, focusing on speaking engagements and publishing.”
They also noted their objective of “creating strategic opportunities that expand her platform in support of the issues she has championed throughout her decades-long career in public service.”

Harris has faced criticism during her time as vice president, with her handling of the border crisis and economic challenges drawing sharp scrutiny.
Her recent shift to Hollywood aligns with a familiar trend for Democratic leaders who capitalize on their political careers post-office via lucrative publishing deals and speaking circuits.
Interestingly, this isn’t Harris’ first collaboration with CAA. The agency worked with her during her tenure as a senator in California, long before she joined Biden’s ticket in 2020.
Back then, CAA helped secure her book deals for The Truths We Hold (2019) and Smart on Crime (2009). These projects played a pivotal role in launching Harris’ public persona and, eventually, her presidential campaign.
CAA is no stranger to representing high-profile figures in both politics and entertainment. Its star-studded roster includes Beyoncé, Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, and Glen Powell.
The agency recently signed President Joe Biden, and currently represents former President Barack Obama, and former First Lady Michelle Obama, helping them land bestselling book deals, Netflix partnerships, and high-paying public speaking opportunities.
Harris’ Hollywood turn hasn’t gone unnoticed by social media users. Some couldn’t resist taking jabs at her new direction.
One person tweeted, “Kamala Harris has signed with Hollywood talent agency CAA. They must have been impressed with her acting skills and ability to swap accents.”
Another remarked, “Looking forward to Word Salad: The Movie.”
According to an Emerson College Polling/Inside California Politics/The Hill survey, Harris remains a top potential contender if she were to reconsider running to replace embattled
California Governor Gavin Newsom.
But when questioned earlier this month, she avoided giving any concrete answers. “I have been home for two weeks and three days,” Harris said.
“My plans are to be in touch with my community, to be in touch with the leaders and figure out what I can do to support them.”
She further elaborated with, “I am here and would be here regardless of the office I hold because it is the right thing to do, which is to show up in your community and thank the folks who are on the ground.”
Harris’ return hasn’t been an entirely welcome affair in her Los Angeles neighborhood of Brentwood.
Neighbors have complaints—not about her presence, but the disruptions it causes. One resident told the New York Post, “I don’t care that she’s back, except that they block off the road
whenever she comes to town.”

Secret Service protection remains a requirement for outgoing vice presidents for at least six months, which means her $4.8 million Brentwood home is under close surveillance by multiple agents.
Another neighbor, a real estate investor who went by the name Lewis, didn’t mince words about her residency.
“I’m embarrassed that she lives here, and I’m embarrassed that she represented the United States,” he said.
He went on to add, “Karen Bass, Gavin Newsom—they’ve destroyed my state. Kamala Harris will do exactly the same. I’d rather she find another state to destroy.”
Meanwhile, Harris’ appearance earlier this month at a Lakers game at Crypto.com Arena didn’t exactly receive star treatment.

Pretty much nobody cared.
Just goes to show you how unpopular Kamala really is and how all the hoopla while she campaigned was completely fake.pic.twitter.com/1COtjlBd5T

Footage showed her awkwardly making her way to seats further back in the section—well away from the coveted VIP courtside spots.
Despite brief recognition from one attendee, the general reaction from the crowd appeared lukewarm, at best.
The viral clip of her subdued reception led one social media user to coldly sum it up as “Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff arrive at the Lakers game. Pretty much nobody cared.”
