President Donald Trump tore into Charlamagne Tha God following the radio host’s appearance on Lara Trump’s Fox News program “My View.”
Charlamagne, whose real name is Lenard Larry McKelvey, joined the president’s daughter-in-law on Saturday and made several remarks that appeared to set off the commander-in-chief.
The host suggested that traditional Republicans could use the ongoing backlash over Jeffrey Epstein-related transparency issues to reclaim the party from Trump loyalists.
“I think there’s a political coup going on right now in the Republican Party that people aren’t paying attention to,” he told Lara.

“This Epstein thing is going to be a way for traditional conservatives to take their party back,” he continued. “I think that they know this is the issue that has gotten the base riled up. The base, the MAGA base, isn’t letting this issue go.”
He argued that the scandal has activated the MAGA base in a way that could give traditional GOP figures an opening.
“For the first time, they know they can probably take their party back and not piss off the MAGA base,” Charlamagne added.

Lara Trump countered, saying she didn’t believe “we’ll ever see another typical, kind of, traditional election with traditional Republicans,” suggesting that Trump’s political dominance has permanently shifted the landscape.
Charlamagne warned that Republican figures banking on replicating Trump’s political appeal were in for a rude awakening.
“You’re not going to be Donald Trump,” he said. “So if you think you’re going to be able to do what Donald Trump has done… it’s not going to happen.”
Lara asked the radio host to grade her father-in-law’s performance over the last six months.
“I wouldn’t give it a good rating,” he responded. He pointed to legislation like the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” the sweeping tax package signed into law in early July, as something that benefits high earners like himself but harms lower-income Americans.
“There’s going to be so many people that’s hurt by that bill,” he said.
Charlamagne also criticized Medicaid rollbacks, saying, “Anything that takes away Medicaid from people and puts them in a worse financial situation than they were previously in — I’m not for.”
His remarks enraged the president, who at 1:49 a.m. Sunday morning, took to Truth Social to go after the host in a fiery post.
Calling Charlamagne a “racist sleazebag,” Trump questioned the use of “GOD” in the host’s nickname, writing, “Can anyone imagine the uproar there would be if I used that nickname?”
The president then blasted Charlamagne for voicing support for Kamala Harris and for praising her track record in comparison to Trump’s.
“This dope, Charlamagne, would vote for Sleepy Joe or Kamala?” he wrote. “Remember, one year ago our Country was DEAD, now it’s the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World. MAGA!!!”
Trump labeled him a “Low IQ individual,” alleging that Charlamagne “has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth” and knows “nothing” about the president’s record.

The president listed a series of accomplishments he claimed Charlamagne overlooked — including ending five wars, resolving long-standing violence in central Africa, dismantling Iran’s nuclear development, securing the U.S. southern border, and boosting the economy.
“He didn’t know that, or India and Pakistan or, wiping out Iran’s nuclear capabilities, or closing the horrendous open Border, or creating the greatest economy, where prices and Inflation have come way down,” Trump posted.
“STUPID and CORRUPT JOE BIDEN set the record for doing the Worst Job as President, EVER.”
Charlamagne, during the nearly 30-minute interview, argued that Americans were disillusioned by what they perceived as broken promises from the president.
“Right now people are hurting. He campaigned on immediate change. Day one change,” he said.

When Lara asked if he had noticed any improvements, he gave a flat “No.”
When asked if he felt safer knowing Iran would not be able to produce nuclear weapons, Charlamagne responded, “Sure. If you’re telling me that a country won’t have the ability to build a nuclear weapon.”
On the topic of immigration, he acknowledged supporting secure borders but criticized deportations of immigrants trying to follow legal processes.
“When you see people actually getting deported and detained and they’re actually trying to go through a process of being American citizens, that’s not right,” he said.
Charlamagne also criticized both major political parties, noting that approval ratings show broad public discontent.
“Democrats suck. We know that already though,” he said. He accused both sides of failing to meet the public’s demands, remarking that Trump could fumble another term while Democrats remain unable to recover.
Regarding Kamala Harris, he said she looked “pretty, pretty good,” adding, “A lot of the things that she said President Trump would do, he actually did.”
He pointed to his past segment on The Daily Show, where he had urged Trump to prove critics wrong by simply not fulfilling their worst expectations. “But he did it anyway,” Charlamagne said.
