President Donald Trump will “know in two minutes” if a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin is possible, according to the man himself.
But late-night host Jimmy Fallon twisted the president’s diplomatic comment into a Stormy Daniels punchline.
On NBC’s The Tonight Show, Fallon joked about Trump’s forthcoming powow with Putin in Alaska.
“The White House said that President Trump’s upcoming meeting in Alaska with Vladimir Putin will take place in the city of Anchorage,” Fallon told viewers.

“The White House also said that the meeting with Putin will be a listening exercise for Trump,” he continued.
“And we all know listening and exercise are Trump’s two favorite things, so this should go well.”
Fallon then noted Trump’s statement that he could determine within two minutes whether an agreement with Putin was feasible.

“It’s reassuring when a president talks about ending war like a Tinder date,” Fallon jabbed.
“Trump says that he’ll know in two minutes, which makes sense, because according to Stormy Daniels, two minutes is plenty.”
🚨 GREG GUTFELD: “I am doing Jimmy Fallon next week and I’m psyched about it. Fallon comes across as a great guy. And me going on his show shows he's not worried about upsetting his peers.”

The remark appeared aimed at pleasing his increasingly progressive fanbase, which had recently turned on him after he invited Fox News host Greg Gutfeld onto The Tonight Show.
During that interview last week, Gutfeld reminisced about his first meeting with Fallon years earlier at an “illegal speakeasy” in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen.
According to Gutfeld, both men were “wasted” when Fallon suddenly tackled him.
“I walk into this bar and I’m with my friend Andy. We just got off shooting something and I look around and go ‘what the hell have I got into?’ And then I see you and you look at me and you have your eyes kind of explode,” Gutfeld detailed.

“And then you run towards me and you tackle me like a giant golden retriever,” he joked.
“You’re like on top of me and so we’re wrestling and then you change and you start wrestling my buddy Andy.”
The Fox News host went on to share how he had been fired from multiple jobs before breaking into late-night television, crediting his mother, Jackie, as his greatest cheerleader.
“She was a supporter of everything I did, which is like your mom. And it’s a big deal, you know,” Gutfeld said.
“And she saw Red Eye take off, she saw me on The Five,” he added. “She didn’t see me for the rest of the stuff, but that’s probably well and good.”
Greg Gutfeld was on Jimmy Fallon tonight, a pathetic example of desperate groveling to the MAGA media machine. They were yucking it up about his Fox Nation reality TV show and Fallon told him “your mom is proud of you, congrats on everything you’ve accomplished. It’s amazing.” pic.twitter.com/ZA4Q54JCtv

Fallon responded warmly: “No, she’s probably very proud. Very, very proud of you and congrats on everything you’ve done. That’s amazing.”
The titular host’s show Gutfeld! on Fox News has been dominating the traditional late-night landscape.
In 2025, the program averaged 3.1 million viewers through July, far outpacing CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert at 1.9 million and Fallon’s own show at 1.5 million.
But when Gutfeld joined Fallon last week, The Tonight Show saw its biggest audience of the year, pulling in 1.7 million viewers.

Nielsen Media Research reported that the episode marked the program’s highest ratings since November 2024, with viewership up 57% compared to the 2025 average.
The broadcast also attracted 294,000 viewers in the 25-54 demographic, a 13% jump.
Online, the interview became the most-watched guest segment from last week on The Tonight Show’s YouTube channel, racking up more than 974,000 views by Tuesday evening.
However, the ratings boost didn’t prevent backlash from the show’s left-leaning audience.
Fox News’ Gutfeld remained the top-rated show in all of late-night television throughout July, maintaining its lead across the board even after CBS announced changes to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Some online commenters accused Fallon of having “zero convictions” for giving airtime to the Fox News star.
One Reddit user wrote, “Fallon has always been a ‘yes to everyone’ man. The guy’s got almost zero convictions.”
Another added, “I’ve never liked Fallon. At all. I like him less now.”
Gutfeld, however, saw Fallon’s decision as a sign of courage. “Not only because he risked criticism from the left,” Gutfeld said on his own program the next day, “but it exposed his audience to his handsome, witty, muscular competition.”
He mocked critics who predicted he would verbally attack Fallon during the interview.
“They expected me, ‘Mr. Evil Fox News,’ to attack Jimmy Fallon, and they were mad when I didn’t,” Gutfeld said.
Greg Gutfeld blasts "clueless" critics surprised he didn't "tear" into Jimmy Fallon during Tonight Show debut.

Instead, he explained, his goal was to bring a sense of fun back to late-night television, the same reason he launched his Fox News show in the first place.
“I was a gracious guest to a nice guy, and if [you] expected me to tear into Jimmy,” he continued. “You were as clueless and boring as Stephen Colbert interviewing Kamala Harris.”
Gutfeld also pointed out that Fallon’s contract with NBC had been extended through 2028, using it as a setup for another swipe at his competitors.
“You see that Colbert, you should have had me on,” Gutfeld said. “And there’s still time Mr. Kimmel, I’ll even bring the tissues.”
