President Donald Trump fired back at his former aide Alyssa Farah Griffin on Tuesday, calling her out for failing to follow through on her public promise to wear a Make America Great Again hat if he successfully freed Israeli hostages from Gaza.
Speaking during a White House meeting with members of his cabinet and Argentinian President Javier Milei, Trump didn’t hold back when asked by a reporter about his former communications aide, now co-host on ABC’s daytime talk show “The View.”
The president said he was well aware of Griffin’s past loyalty, reminding the room that she once wrote him what he described as a glowing letter after resigning from her West Wing position in January 2021.
“I’ll tell you about Alyssa,” Trump began. “She worked here, she gave me the most beautiful letter when the time came up, the election was rigged, I left. She gave me the most beautiful letter you’ve ever seen. I was ‘a great president. What a great job.’”

“Some of the letters have been quoted, this is Alyssa, who I never thought was very outstanding. I figured she would not make it. And she didn’t have a big role here either,” he sniped.
Trump added that after Griffin left the White House, she sent the “most beautiful letters,” noting that there were more than one.
Despite her praise, Griffin changed her tune as soon as she got a job on the liberal morning show.
“[A] glowing letter, [a] beautiful letter. And then she got hired by The View and they gave her a couple of bucks and she changed her view very quickly.”
Trump continued by mocking Griffin’s career shift, saying, “I never thought she would make it. I never thought she had what it took in any way. But she’s on The View. But it just shows what a fraud The View is.”
Earlier this year, anti-Trumper @Alyssafarah promised to wear a MAGA hat on The View if @POTUS got the hostages back.

The tension between Trump and Griffin reignited after a resurfaced television clip showed Griffin making a bold pledge following the 2024 election.
On-air, she claimed she would publicly thank Trump and wear a MAGA hat for a day on “The View” if he succeeded in freeing Israeli hostages.
“If he does good, if he gets the Israeli hostages out, I promise I will wear a MAGA hat for one day on the show and say thank you for doing it,” Griffin said at the time.
Since that promise, Griffin has not appeared wearing a MAGA hat on the show despite Trump successfully brokering a deal that freed 20 living hostages held by Hamas.
Their release marked the first phase of a peace agreement that also included the withdrawal of Israeli troops to a designated line.

After the deal, Griffin had publicly stated that Trump and his administration deserved “tremendous credit” for securing the hostages’ release.
Yet her decision not to honor her on-air promise has drawn attention, particularly among conservative audiences who see it as another example of the show’s bias.
Griffin, who once worked as press secretary for former Vice President Mike Pence and as a special assistant to Trump between 2017 and 2019, later joined the Department of Defense as press secretary.

Following her departure from the Trump administration in 2021, she joined “The View” and became one of the president’s most outspoken critics.
In November 2024, Griffin called Trump “the most dangerous man” to ever serve as president.
While she continues to claim she is a Republican, she revealed she voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris in the last election.
"For the first time in my life, I voted for a democrat."

Meanwhile, another heated exchange unfolded on Tuesday’s episode of “The View” involving actress Cheryl Hines, who sparred with co-host Sunny Hostin over her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and his qualifications to serve as Health Secretary.
Hines, 60, defended her husband’s record as Hostin pressed her on his lack of formal medical background.
“He has dedicated his career to suing big corporations because of toxins that have been affecting people’s health,” Hines argued.
RFK Jr.’s wife has a raw moment on The View as she CLAPS BACK at criticisms of Bobby’s stance on vaccines.
Cheryl Hines played nicely at the beginning, but then she ended with a line that clearly upset Joy Behar.

“He was part of the team that sued Monsanto because of Roundup, a pesticide that was causing cancer. He sued Dupont, he sued Exxon, and he sued these companies for health reasons, because they were causing health problems.”
Hostin countered, saying, “But the problem, respectfully, is that your husband is the least qualified Department of Health and Human Services head that we’ve had in history.”
A visibly surprised Hines replied, “Less qualified than an economist?” to which Hostin retorted, “I think he is less qualified.”
Unfazed, Hines continued to defend Kennedy Jr., saying, “He has spent his career studying toxins, studying people’s health, fighting for one guy who was using Roundup for his job.”

Hostin shot back, “He has also spread a lot of misinformation, a lot of chaos, a lot of confusion. And I think it’s just a very dangerous thing. I say it with the utmost respect.”
“Listen, we all have different views here,” Hines said. “And when you say misinformation, disinformation, we could go back to Covid when…”
Hostin hastily interrupted, referencing one of Kennedy’s controversial remarks. “He’s connected circumcision to autism,” Hostin said.
“May I finish?” Hines snapped back, clearly frustrated.
The tense exchange followed Kennedy’s recent comments suggesting a link between circumcision and increased autism risk.
Kennedy later clarified that his remarks were about the potential role of acetaminophen, used for pain relief after circumcision, not the procedure itself.
