Robert De Niro has taken his disdain for President Donald Trump to new levels, using an MSNBC interview and a weekend protest to deliver an unhinged tirade against the commander in chief.
During a Sunday appearance on MSNBC’s “The Weekend,” the actor described the president as a man devoid of compassion or connection to others.
“Trump does not understand anything about humanity, people,” De Niro alleged.
“He has no empathy. I don’t know where what he is, but he’s an alien, and he wants to hurt this country.”

He went on to suggest there was “something deeply psychological in him” that drives him to “hurt people” and that the president “doesn’t care.”
The Oscar-winning actor’s remarks followed his appearance at Saturday’s “No Kings Day” protest, a nationwide liberal demonstration targeting the president.
In a video shared on social media by the Indivisible Project, De Niro invoked the Revolutionary War to rally protesters.

He compared Trump to a monarch, saying Americans once fought “King George III” for democracy, and now, in his words, “we have a would-be king who wants to take it away, King Donald I. F*** that!”
De Niro, who has a long history of attacking the president, declared that Americans were once again “rising up” against tyranny.

“We’re all in this together, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” he said, using the language of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Following the weekend demonstrations, the actor took to MSNBC to urge continuous resistance against the president.
He warned that Trump “is not going to leave the White House,” claiming the president “does not want to leave” and “will not leave.” He cautioned those who think otherwise are “deluding themselves.”

De Niro accused Republicans of enabling Trump, calling them “classic bullies” who “know” what’s happening but “go along with it.”
He insisted the only way to confront such behavior was to “face him and fight it out and back him off and back him down.”
In the same interview, De Niro also took time to applaud New York Attorney General Letitia James, who recently resurfaced in public amid her own legal troubles.
Actor Robert De Niro: “I like what Letitia James is doing. She’s fighting back. She’s saying fuck you. I’m sorry, this is where we are. She’s saying this is it. I will not be taken down by this person. I am not afraid of him. God bless her for that.” pic.twitter.com/i3JmS1Dycf

The actor said, “I like Hakeem Jeffries, I like Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff, they’re all great, strong. I like what Letitia James is doing. She’s fighting back. She’s saying, f*** you.”
“I’m sorry, this is where we are,” he added as the hosts appeared shocked by the use of offensive language on live-air.
“It’s what she’s saying, ‘This is it. I will not be taken down by this person. I am not afraid of him.’ And God bless her for that.”
James appeared alongside New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani at a rally in Washington Heights, marking her first public appearance since her October 9 indictment.

During her remarks, James criticized President Trump’s administration, saying, “I know what it feels like to be attacked for just doing your job.”
She vowed to “keep fighting the aggressive policies of Washington, DC,” adding, “I will not stop, I won’t give up, and I won’t give in. I fear no man.”
De Niro said that kind of defiance was needed nationwide. He recalled watching a news clip of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers confronting a woman who, according to him, stood her ground.
“Those ICE guys, they knew that she was right and they better not mess with her,” he said. “That’s what you need. People who are saying, I’ve had enough of this and we’ve all had enough. It’s right in front of us.”
De Niro urged resistance to be “nice” and “peaceful,” warning against giving the president “an excuse.”
The actor’s appearance turned even more incendiary when he compared one of the president’s top advisors, Stephen Miller, to a Nazi.
De Niro labeled Miller, who is Jewish, “the Goebbels of the cabinet” and said, “He’s a Nazi… He is and he’s Jewish and he should be ashamed of himself.”
He accused Miller of being behind Trump’s alleged refusal to leave office, saying, “He set it up.”

Joseph Goebbels, to whom De Niro referred, was Adolf Hitler’s propaganda minister during World War II.
Miller currently serves as the President’s deputy chief of staff and has been a leading voice on immigration policy, advocating for stronger border security and the rule of law.
De Niro continued his attack, claiming Trump’s leadership appeals to racism.
“It’s all nonsense. We know it’s all racist. I mean, that’s what he appeals to, that’s what Trump is,” he said. “What you see is what you get. It’s not going to change.”
White House communications director Steven Cheung responded scathingly to De Niro’s remarks on Monday, dismissing the 81-year-old actor as irrelevant.
“Robert De Niro is washed up and hasn’t been relevant in 30 years,” Cheung said.
“Now, he just beclowns himself by spewing hate speech and inciting violence against others.”
