Actor Harrison Ford delivered a profanity-laden attack against President Donald Trump on Friday, targeting the commander-in-chief’s climate change positions and accusing him of being motivated purely by financial gain.
The “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones” actor unleashed some of his harshest criticism yet of the Trump administration during an interview with The Guardian.
“It scares the s**t out of me,” Ford told the publication. “The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy. [Trump] knows better, but he’s an instrument of the status quo and he’s making money, hand over fist, while the world goes to hell in a handbasket.”
BREAKING: Harrison Ford to the Guardian:
“Donald Trump doesn’t have any policies, he has whims. It scares the shit out of me. The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy. [Trump] knows better, but he’s an instrument of the status quo and he’s making money, hand over fist,… pic.twitter.com/Igxo1jyUnj

The 82-year-old Hollywood veteran added, “It’s unbelievable. I don’t know of a greater criminal in history.”
Ford took issue with Trump’s energy independence agenda, saying he hoped the president would not be able to move forward with his intentions to drill on American soil. He claimed Trump is “losing ground because everything he says is a lie.”
The actor did strike a somewhat optimistic tone about humanity’s capacity to address climate challenges, though his comments appeared to contradict his earlier apocalyptic warnings about Trump’s leadership.

“I’m confident we can mitigate against [climate change], that we can buy time to change behaviors, to create new technologies, to concentrate more fully on implementation of those policies,” Ford said.
“But we have to develop the political will and intellectual sophistication to realize that we human beings are capable of change. We are incredibly adaptive, we are incredibly inventive. If we concentrate on a problem we can fix it most times.”

In a bizarre tangent, Ford suggested Trump’s opposition to wind turbines stems from aesthetic preferences, joking that the president has a dislike of the renewable energy structures because “he has just not seen a gold one.”
Ford has maintained a pattern of criticizing Trump throughout the years. Last year, the actor publicly endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election campaign.
“The other guy [Trump], he demands unquestioning loyalty, says he wants revenge,” Ford said in a video supporting Harris.
Fellow actor Ethan Hawke joined the chorus of Hollywood criticism during an appearance on “The View,” taking aim at Trump over his demand for $230 million from the Justice Department as compensation for federal investigations he endured while Democrats controlled the executive branch.
Co-host Joy Behar prompted Hawke to weigh in on the controversy, asking for his perspective on Trump’s multi-million dollar restitution request.
“Let’s do a hot topic with you because earlier, we were talking about Trump wanting $230 million from the Department of Justice for investigating him,” Behar said. “He wants that money.”
Ethan Hawke thinks anyone cares about his opinion of President Trump potentially getting $230M from the DOJ as compensation for the fraudulent investigations into him.

Hawke responded by invoking former President Jimmy Carter’s approach to potential conflicts of interest.
“Is anybody here old enough to remember when Jimmy Carter gave up his family farm to make sure he didn’t have conflict of interest?” the actor asked.
“It’s called integrity and it’s starting to show the lack of it. It’s pretty obvious,” Hawke added.
When Behar responded with surprise at Hawke’s use of the word “starting,” the actor clarified: “Yeah! I’m being nice.”
Hawke’s comments referenced Carter’s decision to place his peanut farm into a blind trust during his presidency, a mechanism that allows someone to retain asset ownership while transferring management responsibilities to another person or institution.
According to reports, Trump submitted two administrative complaints seeking damages for various actions he contends violated his constitutional rights, though the filings have not been made public.
When questioned about the potential settlement, Trump didn’t dispute the reports but appeared uncertain about specifics.
“Well, I guess they probably owe me a lot of money for that,” Trump told reporters when asked about seeking compensation from his own Justice Department.
The president indicated that any funds received would be directed toward charitable purposes.
“Do something nice with it like give it to charity or give it to the White House,” Trump said, while highlighting that he has declined the presidential salary since his first term.
Rapper Cardi B also unleashed a profanity-filled attack on Trump, directing her anger at voters who supported him in the 2024 election.
The artist appeared particularly concerned about changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program affecting millions of Americans.
During an Instagram Live session, Cardi B criticized those who voted for Trump expecting economic improvements.
“Donald Trump was never for y’all poor mother**ers,” she said without restraint. “Donald Trump was never for the poor people. For the white poors, for the Black poors, for the Spanish poors, for the Asians, for the Indians. He don’t give a f**k about none of y’all motherf***ers. To him, even millionaires are poor.”

The entertainer’s tirade appeared motivated by announcements that millions would lose food benefits beginning November 1.
Cardi B continued her Instagram rant by addressing Trump’s immigration enforcement policies. ”
Now, Donald Trump was blaming the immigrants for America’s downfall,” she said. “Like, I do understand if a country wants to enforce more strict immigration laws. I understand that. However, he was using that as an excuse for the issues that we have in this country, in this economy.”
“Now, how many f***ing immigrants has he deported?” she questioned. “He has deported so many people. So, now the immigrants are deported, who are we blaming for the fact that we are practically going into a recession? We don’t even have food stamps.”
Meanwhile, Trump on Friday accused Democrats of deliberately blocking short-term funding legislation and jeopardizing food assistance access for approximately 42 million Americans.
The president said he has instructed White House attorneys to seek court guidance on legally releasing federal funds to states facing difficulties issuing benefits due to the ongoing funding standoff.
Trump indicated his legal team believes their authority to distribute certain funds is constrained by contradictory court rulings, necessitating urgent judicial clarification.
“Our Government lawyers do not think we have the legal authority to pay SNAP with certain monies we have available, and now two Courts have issued conflicting opinions on what we can and cannot do,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. ”
I do NOT want Americans to go hungry just because the Radical Democrats refuse to do the right thing and REOPEN THE GOVERNMENT.”
The president stated he had ordered lawyers to immediately pursue legal direction from the courts to enable the administration to proceed with funding SNAP payments.

Trump acknowledged that even with a favorable court decision, delays would persist as states processed necessary funds for aid distribution.
He reiterated his readiness to act immediately following a clear judicial ruling, saying it would be his “honor to provide the funding, just like I did with Military and Law Enforcement Pay.”
The president characterized Senate Democrats’ approach as intentionally prolonging negotiations to preserve leverage during the shutdown, portraying their resistance as harmful to working-class Americans.
“Democrats should quit this charade where they hurt people for their own political reasons, and immediately REOPEN THE GOVERNMENT,” Trump said, urging SNAP recipients to contact Democratic lawmakers and demand they support reopening federal operations. He included Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s office phone number in his post.
On Friday, federal judges in Rhode Island and Massachusetts issued rulings stating the government could not suspend SNAP benefits during the shutdown.
