Nicki Minaj took to social media to slam California Governor Gavin Newsom, saying he wants to “see trans kids.”
The rapper, known for hits like “Starships” and “Super Bass” shared a series of posts on X, declaring to Newsom, who may run for the presidency in 2028, “It’s the end of the road for you.”
Newsom appeared on a podcast with Ezra Klein of The New York Times and spoke about his stance on trans politics.
“I want to see trans kids,” he said. “I have a trans godson. There’s no governor who has signed more pro-trans legislation than I have. No one has been a stronger advocate for the LGBTQ community.”
Oh Gavvy pooh, it only gets worse from here for you, buddy.
It’s the end of the road for you, my love.

In response, Minaj criticized the governor’s approach, writing in one X post, “Oh Gavvy pooh, it only gets worse from here for you, buddy. It’s the end of the road for you, my love,” while sharing an image of the Chucky character from the Child’s Play film franchise.
She added, “Get on the nearest jet ski & let that beautiful hair blow in the wind. It will make you happier than this race that you will not win. Enjoy life. Peace.”
Minaj continued her colorful commentary in a second post, writing, “Gavin is the cute boy who got everything handed to him b/c of how cute & sexy & hot & smoking he was. Oohhh look @’m. Sitting there in that suit with the sneakers on.”

“He thinks he’s Tom Cruise only difference is, his next mission IS impossible,” she sniped. “He should get another leading role.”
In a third post, she stated, “Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids. Haha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that.”
Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids. Haha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that. Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids.

Vice President JD Vance also responded to one of Minaj’s posts, writing, “Nicki > Cardi” in reaction to her X post, “Vance > Rants.”
Earlier in November, Minaj publicly praised President Donald Trump for addressing the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

She shared a screenshot of Trump’s post on Truth Social, which highlighted the threat to Christians in Nigeria and his actions to designate the country as a “COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN.”
Minaj described reading Trump’s post as giving her a “deep sense of gratitude” and highlighted the ability in the United States for people to worship freely.
Trump wrote, “Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter. I am hereby making Nigeria a ‘COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN’ — But that is the least of it.”
“When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done,” he wrote.
Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God.
No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.

Minaj reacted to the post by adding, “Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion.”
“We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other,” she penned.
“Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”
Trump also called on lawmakers to investigate the situation in Nigeria, directing Rep. Riley Moore (R-WV) to work with House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK) and report back with findings.
“The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other Countries. We want ready, willing, and able to save our Great Christian population around the World!” he declared.
Minaj also addressed Christian persecution at the United Nations in New York in November.
She hosted a discussion at the U.S. Mission to the UN, joined by her pastor, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz, victims of religious violence, and regional experts.
“In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes and killed,” Minaj stated.
“Churches have been burned, families have been torn apart and entire communities live in fear constantly, simply because of how they pray.”

She framed the issue as a global concern, stressing the importance of “uniting humanity” and expressing hope that her message would influence the UN’s mission to ensure peace and security.
According to Open Doors, 3,100 Nigerian Christians have been killed this year, representing the majority of the 4,476 Christians killed worldwide.
Newsom countered Minaj’s perspective by criticizing Trump, calling him one of the “most destructive” presidents and warning that the country is becoming “unrecognizable.”
“I think Trump is one of the most destructive presidents and human beings in my lifetime,” Newsom said.
“I think this republic is at real risk, this country being unrecognizable. And I have no patience for people that want to indulge it.”
He also criticized financial, educational, and political entities for accommodating Trump.
“I can’t stand the crony capitalism,” the California Democrat seethed. “I can’t stand the universities have done that, the law firms that have done that, individual corporate leaders that have done that, other governors, maybe Democrats and Republicans, that have been complicit at this moment.”
Newsom commented on the risk of Trump pursuing a third term, calling him “reckless.”
“We’ll not have a fair and free election if we don’t continue to fight. I’m the future ex-governor. Who the hell knows what happens the rest of my life?” he noted.
“Except one thing I know that matters in the rest of my life is I have to look at my kids in the goddamn eye. I mean that seriously.”
