President Joe Biden pledged to protect transgender children and bashed red states for introducing laws that target youth gender affirming care while signing the Respect for Marriage Act, but allowed a drag queen who once sexualized young children in a social media post to attend the White House event.
“We need to challenge the hundreds of callous and cynical laws introduced in the states targeting transgender children, terrifying families and criminalizing doctors who give children the care we need,” Biden told a crowd that included gay icon Cyndi Lauper and nonbinary singer Sam Smith.
“We have to protect these children so they know they are loved,” he announced at the signing of a bill that will protect same-sex and interracial marriages.
“So sadly, I must acknowledge another reason we’re here,” he continued according to the Daily Mail.
“Congress is acting because an extreme Supreme Court has stripped away the rights afforded to millions of Americans that existed for half a century,” Biden said about the landmark decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Biden also invited two controversial drag queens, Marti Gould Cummings and Brita Filter, both who have controversially performed at shows targeting children.
Cummings was called out by once Twitter suppressed conservative commentary account, Libs of TikTok, for an extremely questionable post about young children.
“The kids are out to sing and suck d!” Cummings tweeted on March 5.
“Biden invited this drag queen to the White House to attend the signing of the Respect for Marriage Act,” Libs of TikTok shared on Monday.
The same day Cummings, who unsuccessfully ran fro New York City Council this year, deleted the tweet and blocked the right-wing satire account.
Filter, who was a contestant on Season 12 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” performed at a private high school’s chapel, which all students were required to attend in April.
She posted a clip of herself prancing between pews while singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” in a barely there skirt and knee-high orange boots.
“Who said you can’t have a drag queen at church?” Filter captioned the Instagram video. “Would you go to this service?”
Apparently at least one student, who told the Post Millennial that attendees were pressured to participate in the spectacle.
“There was tons of social pressure to dance along and pretend like it was normal for sure,” the student remarked.
“Whether it be people tapping on shoulders and telling them to stand up or just a collective staring contest at whoever wasn’t totally participating.”
At Tuesday’s bill signing, Biden said that “racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, transphobia” are all connected.
“But the antidote to hate is love,” Biden said. “This law and the law that defends strike a blow against hate in all its forms.”
However, willingly blind protection of a transgender student has already come at the cost of the physical safety of two teenage girls.
Two female students in woke Loudoun County, Virginia were sexually assaulted by a skirt-wearing biological male in the girls bathroom in May and October of 2021.
The first victim’s father attacked former superintendent Scott Ziegler at a school board meeting in June 2021.
The assault occurred after Ziegler claimed that there were no records of the assaults “occurring in our restrooms,” and denied that “the predator transgender student” even existed.
The transgender student was arrested after the second attack in October and convicted of sexual assault.
Ziegler was fired from his position on the school board for “stunning lack of openness, transparency and accountability, both to the public and to the special grand jury” that was appointed to assess how the sexual assault cases were handled by the district.
The former superintendent was criminally charged with three misdemeanors for false publication, prohibited conduct, and penalizing an employee for a court appearance.
