Former House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi reportedly had priests exorcise her San Francisco home, after her husband was attacked by a hammer-wielding fanatic.
Alexandria Pelosi, the California congresswoman’s daughter, revealed that Nancy Pelosi summoned priests to her residence during Thanksgiving, to spiritually cleanse her abode.
Alexandria said that her mother felt “guilty” that her husband Paul Pelosi, 82, was victimized and brutally injured by an assailant that had been targeting her.
“I think that weighed really heavy on her soul. I think she felt really guilty,” Alexandria said in an interview with the New York Times.
“I think that really broke her,” she told Maureen Dowd.
“Over Thanksgiving, she had priests coming, trying to have an exorcism of the house and having prayer services.”
David DePape allegedly broke into the Pelosi’s San Francisco home on Oct. 28, in an attempt to kidnap the congresswoman, while armed with a hammer.
The former speaker was in Washington, when the conspiracy theorist forcibly entered and startled Paul, who was sleeping in boxer shorts and a shirt, awake from slumber.
DePape demanded to know Nancy’s whereabouts, and told her husband that if the speaker told him the “truth,” he wouldn’t kidnap her, but if she “lied,” he would break her kneecaps.
Paul miraculously managed to call the police during the event.
When officers responded, they ordered the intruder to drop the hammer, but he ignored the command and attacked Pelosi’s husband.
Paul was knocked out by a blow to the head and his skull was fractured.
He had to have the wound surgically repaired, and also had serious injuries to his hands and right arm.
“He’s a strong person, athletic,” Alexandria said about her maimed father.
“This has been tough,” she detailed. “It’s going to be about three or four more months before he’s really back to normal.”
DePape was charged with attempted murder, burglary, and elder abuse.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges when he appeared in court in December.
SFPD’s Lt. Carla Hurley, who interviewed DePape on the day of the incident, testified that that the defendant went after the former speaker because “she is the second in line to the presidency.”
He had a list of other targets including Hunter Biden, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Tom Hanks, according to Hurley.
She said that when police arrived on scene, DePape told Paul that he would not give up his mission.
“I’m not going to surrender, I am here to fight,” Hurley quoted the assailant from the stand.
“If you stop me from going after people, you will take the punishment instead,” he said.
“There is evil in Washington, what they did went so far beyond the campaign,” DePape could be heard saying in a recording of his police interview.
Clearly Pelosi believes the “evil” isn’t just in Washington, and critics were quick to mock her for trying to banish evil spirits from her home.
“Will she also be coordinating one for the speaker’s office?” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) snarked.
“Is it still called an exorcism if the devil orders it?” One Twitter user questioned.
“So Pelosi called in a priest to do an exorcism on her house. Where’s she going to live now?” someone else joked.
“[The] only time the SF Pelosi house needs an exorcism is when she is there,” another added.
But someone else sagely pointed out that “exorcisms don’t work on vampires,” and it was likely “unsuccessful,” as the ritual “doesn’t work on witches” either.
“They performed an EXORCISM at Pelosi’s San Franciso mansion to banish ‘Evil Spirits’ and Nancy hasn’t been the same ever since,” one keyboard critic tweeted.
“I bet the Priest that did Paul Pelosi’s exorcism, said at some point, you should probably move out of the demon’s house,” someone added.
“The things some people will put with for stock tips.”
