Denver Broncos’ player Josh Reynolds sustained a gunshot wound to the head after departing a local strip club.
On October 18, Reynolds, accompanied by two male friends, had been out at Shotgun Willie’s in Glendale, Colorado until nearly 3 a.m.
Shortly after they took off for the night, law enforcement received reports of a shooting in the vicinity.
Upon arrival, police discovered Reynolds, who was shot in the back of his head and on his left arm.

Miraculously, no one was gravely injured in the incident, and Reynolds received treatment for minor injuries at a nearby hospital before being released.
Investigators later located the victims’ abandoned Ford Bronco, full of bullet holes along a Denver interstate.
It’s uncertain if the vehicle was owned by Reynolds or if he was behind the wheel during the shooting.
Police stated that the specifics of the incident remain ambiguous until further investigation can clear up the details.
Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza, two men apprehended in connection to the case, face charges of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, according to a police report.
The news broke six days after the shooting, which was stunning due to Reynolds high profile job.
I really think we should re-sign Josh Reynolds after this season to be our WR3. He’s on a contract that’s less than $2M a year and he has over 600 yards and 5TDs. If we can get him on a 2 year $6-7M contract that would really be great! #AllGrit pic.twitter.com/jAUNVE3Mrf

However, the NFL player’s involvement with the incident likely went unnoticed as he was already on the injured reserve list after having surgery to correct his broken thumb in October.
Police were alerted to the incident when the initial caller, who may or may not have been Reynolds, said they were driving a blue Ford Bronco, and reported being shot.
At one point, the caller stopped responding to the 911 dispatcher and seemed to be on the move on foot.
Two more 911 calls came in, with one caller reporting being followed, and another saying they had been shot.
Officers arriving at the scene found three victims, including Reynolds, a man shot in the back, and another man injured by shattered glass.
Additionally, all three men sustained scratches from climbing a fence to escape the suspects.
Police noted that two victims were transported to the hospital for minor injury treatment.
“Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries,” the Broncos told The Associated Press.
“Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”
In his ninth NFL season and first with Denver, Reynolds signed a two-year, $9 million deal last offseason.
He’s participated in five games with one start, recording 12 catches for 183 yards and a touchdown.
Previously, Reynolds spent three seasons with Detroit. His career also includes stints with the Titans and Rams, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M.
Reynolds is not the only NFL player to be shot this year, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot in the Union Square area of his team’s hometown on August 31.

According to police reports, a 17-year-old high school student attempted to rob him, and an altercation occurred that left both Pearsall and the suspect shot.
Pearsall was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was considered in “serious but stable condition” after being shot in the chest.
50 days after the shooting, the NFL rookie stepped on the field for the first time to face off with the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday.
“It meant everything,” Pearsall said about suiting up with his team for the first time. “Obviously, all the adversity I just went through these past months, it was really good to go out there with my guys again.”
“At the end of the day when the incident first happened, the first thing I was thinking about was the guys and the coaches in this locker room, the entire staff, and they did a really good job of rallying around me, making sure I stayed up, and it was a huge blessing for me,” he noted during his first public remarks.
In his first game, which resulted in an 28-18 loss to the Chiefs, Pearsall was targeted five times, and made three catches for 221 yards.
