Spotify podcaster Joe Rogan has put to rest any rumors about him running for Governor of Texas.
While speaking with conservationist Steven Rinella on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the titular host made it crystal clear that a political career is not in the cards for him, stating he has no interest in taking on such a role despite living in Texas since his move from California in 2020.
“No! No!” Rogan adamantly said when confronted with the question of whether he would consider running for office in the Lone Star State.
“I’m not running for nothing. I don’t wanna do nothing. I don’t want to do a godd**n thing,” he replied.
Doubling down on his disinterest in the political sphere, he declared,
“F**k that! Why would I do that? I have the best job in the world. I get to talk st with zero responsibilities.”
Instead, Rogan said he relishes the freedom his career gives him to speak his mind. “If I get something wrong, I go, ‘Listen, I’m a moron.
Why are you listening to me in the first place?'”
Rogan cemented his stance with an even stronger statement, adding, “No, I have no desire in any way, shape or form to have anything to do with anything involving politics or — I don’t want to be in control of it.”
He went further to explain why a leadership role would never suit him.
Admitting he even dislikes managing large teams, Rogan said, “F**k that. I would hate it. I don’t want to be a mayor, I don’t want to be nothing … I don’t want to be a city councilman, I don’t want to be st.”
Describing his aversion to the entire political system, he stated, “I don’t like the whole thing about it. It’s just, it’s not a good gig. It’s just a creepy business. It’s a very creepy and prostitutional business. I don’t like it.”
Though Rogan disowned any intent to participate in politics going forward, he did reflect on his limited involvement in the most recent U.S. presidential election.
He admitted to taking some enjoyment in influencing voters late in the race after endorsing Donald Trump.
“I did enjoy because I didn’t want to. I did not want to get involved in any way, shape or form,” he confessed.
However, he felt compelled to take action. “But it got so weird. I was, like, I don’t want to have nothing and I don’t want to have anything to do with it in the future. I don’t, I didn’t want to. I just felt sucked into it.”
He described his fatigue over recurring political outcomes. “I’m like, yeah, we can’t do this again. We can’t do it with these same people that f****d us for four years, and then they’re gonna [be] like, ‘We’re gonna do it differently now.'”
Rogan also turned his attention to what he called liberals “crying wolf,” specifically referencing accusations made against Trump buddy Elon Musk.

Critics took aim at the tech billionaire, claiming a gesture he made resembled a Nazi salute during a presidential inauguration event for President Donald Trump.
While on stage, Musk placed his right hand over his chest, fingers spread wide, before extending his arm upward at an angle—a gesture that sparked significant backlash online.
Many claimed it was intentionally mimicking the Nazi salute, leading to widespread speculation.

Rogan fired back at these allegations, dismissing them as absurd and part of a pattern of over-the-top accusations.
“You do anything you can to stop Hitler, right? This is why they want to conflate and always want to pretend that everyone’s Hitler,” he began.
“The problem with that is, after a while, it’s crying wolf and people are like, ‘Oh, this is a bull***t game you’re playing, and you’re just using it as an excuse.’”
Standing up for Musk, a frequent guest on his show, Rogan stated, “Elon has talked about this a lot. He’s absolutely correct is that people use woke ideology as an excuse to be an a**hole, and it’s really just people that are a**holes that are attaching themselves to things that make them feel righteous.”
The podcaster didn’t hold back, continuing to critique the very nature of such accusations.
“They wrap themselves in this idea to give them virtue and to allow them to say the most awful things about other people that have different perspectives,” he went on. “Then just by nature if you’re doing that, you’re doing the wrong thing. You’re a bad person.”
“You can justify it all you want. You can find people that agree with you all you want, but those people are also on the wrong track,” Rogan said.
“If you can do it in small groups of people [then] you can do it in enormous groups of people. It just has to be an ethic that gets promoted. It has to be something that you see people that you admire adhere to and you do it as well.”
He also criticized the culture of personal attacks, calling them counterproductive.
“The horrific unfounded personal attacks only make people less and less effective,” he remarked. “Intelligent and aware people who have control of their emotions recognize that. They’re not going to take your perspective seriously, so you’re going to be less and less effective with what you do.”
Musk also responded to the controversy on social media, choosing to laugh off his critics. He dismissed the outcry by saying his detractors need “better dirty tricks.”
Frankly, they need better dirty tricks.
The “everyone is Hitler” attack is sooo tired 😴 https://t.co/9fIqS5mWA0

Musk wasn’t alone in his defense. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke out in support of the billionaire in a statement shared on X, writing that Musk “is being falsely smeared.”
“Elon is a great friend of Israel,” Netanyahu continued. “He visited Israel after the October 7 massacre in which Hamas terrorists committed the worst atrocity against the Jewish people since the Holocaust.”
Netanyahu went on to highlight Musk’s advocacy for Israel, praising his outspoken stance.
“He has since repeatedly and forcefully supported Israel’s right to defend itself against genocidal terrorists and regimes who seek to annihilate the one and only Jewish state,” the Prime Minister concluded.
