Conservative radio host Megyn Kelly took aim at what she described as a dangerous and distracting sideshow that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is putting on while staging dramatic photo ops during migrant arrest raids.
Noem, who has regularly appeared in tactical gear alongside immigration enforcement agents since becoming DHS secretary, joined a multi-agency raid in Phoenix on Tuesday.
The operation, involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and local immigration officials, led to the arrest of three illegal immigrants with alleged criminal records, the New York Post reported.
During the raid, one suspect reportedly lashed out, attempting to kick a camera while Noem was questioning him.
The moment nearly led to Noem being struck, highlighting the real risk of her involvement in the operations.
Despite the hazards, Noem has continued to document her appearances at the southern border, often uploading videos and snapshots to social media showing her dressed in enforcement gear beside agents from ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
On her podcast, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the titular host criticized Noem’s highly visible participation, accusing her of seeking attention and overshadowing the actual law enforcement agents.

“Can we talk about Kristi Noem and these ridiculous photo ops? Why does she have to keep doing this? She’s doing a great job. Her actual performance as DHS secretary, in my view anyway, has been amazing,” Kelly remarked.
“Just stop trying to glamorize the mission and put yourself in the middle of it as you cosplay ICE agent, which you’re not!” the SirusXM host criticized.
Kelly suggested that Noem’s displays undermine the credibility of immigration enforcement agencies.
“I can’t stand these photo ops, you guys. I think they diminish ICE. They diminish DHS, CBP,” she said. “She’s not an agent. She is an administrative policy person appointed by Trump because she was very loyal to him. Fine, but stop with the glam.”
She also voiced concern over Noem’s presence on raids, arguing that it puts lives at unnecessary risk.
“She looks like [how] I look right now, but she’s out in the field with her gun being like, ‘We’re going to go kick some ass!’ No one wants you there. First of all, nobody ever wants the extra lady who doesn’t actually belong,” Kelly said.
“They just don’t. Pro tip, as somebody whose brother is a cop, they don’t want you there even if you’re an attractive lady. They don’t want you,” she added.
Kelly noted that even though officials might allow Noem to tag along due to her title, her involvement doesn’t help because “there are lives on the line” during the operations.

“They may say that you can come because you’re DHS secretary, but these guys are going to be much safer if you have nothing to do with it,” she said.
“Sure enough, she went on one of these raids, and somebody tried to kick her. It’s like she’s looking for an opportunity to have that happen. I have had it up to here with all of this.”
While attention focused on the high-profile raid, Noem also made news Tuesday by announcing plans to waive environmental reviews to fast-track a 2.5-mile section of border wall construction along the California-Mexico line, according to the Federal Register.
Adding to the controversy, Noem posted a short video on social media Tuesday, showing her standing between two ICE officers and wielding a rifle.
The clip, meant to highlight her support for immigration enforcement, drew criticism when viewers noticed the barrel appeared to point dangerously close to one officer’s head.
“Here we are with Marco and Brian today. They’re letting me roll with them. We’re going to go out and pick up somebody who I think got charges of human trafficking,” Noem says in the 20-second video.

“We earlier had an op that swept up somebody that was wanted for murder. So appreciate the good work that they do every day, and we appreciate them working to make America safe.”
Noem, wearing a tactical vest with ICE insignia, dark pants, and a baseball cap, delivered her message while the two officers stood silently. The clip quickly drew sharp rebuke on social media.
Bravo’s Andy Cohen chimed in with, “Please be careful with that gun.”
Another alarmed viewer wrote, “Dude wtf!!! Get your gun pointed away from his head!!!!!!!!”
“Kristi Noem got the dude on the right confused with a puppy,” one user quipped in reference to the pet dog she bragged about shooting in her memior.
While production of ICE Barbie isn’t in the cards for Mattel, it appears the toy maker is rolling out an unlikely new addition to the Barbie family.
The toy company unveiled a new addition to its Barbie lineup — a LeBron James figure, launching as the first release in their “Kenbassador” series.

“As a young kid, I was fortunate to have role models who not only inspired me but also showed me what’s possible through hard work and dedication,” James said.
“Now, as an adult, I understand how vital it is for young people to have positive figures to look up to. That’s why partnering with Barbie to release the LeBron James ‘Kenbassadors’ doll is such an honor.”
“It’s an opportunity to recognize the powerful impact of role models who instill confidence, inspire dreams, and show kids that they, too, can achieve greatness,” he concluded.
The doll will hit store shelves and online retailers, including Target, Amazon, Walmart, and Mattel Creations, on April 14 for $75.
