President Donald Trump touted a list of international diplomatic wins and dropped a Sean Connery impression during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for his newest golf course in Scotland on Tuesday.
Standing with his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, the president addressed reporters at the Trump International Golf Links in Balmedie, a coastal village near Aberdeen.
The event marked the official opening of what Trump described as one of the finest golf destinations in the world.
“I look forward to playing it today. We’ll play it very quickly. And then I go back to D.C., and we put out fires all over the world,” Trump remarked before snipping the ceremonial ribbon.

Referencing recent developments abroad, Trump highlighted what he called a string of successful peace efforts.
“We did one yesterday. You know, we stopped the war, but we stopped about five wars,” he said.
“So that’s much more important than playing golf. As much as I like, it’s much more important.”

“It’s going to be a special year, and it’s going to be a special decade,” he continued.
“And we’re going to make all of our countries strong and great and really wonderful again. And that’s happening, and it’s happening very fast.”

Libs will cry about it, but the truth is Trump gets more done on the golf course than Biden got done throughout his entire fraudulent term.

Trump cited multiple foreign conflicts he claimed the U.S. helped bring under control, including ceasefire agreements between Thailand and Cambodia, de-escalations between India and Pakistan, and a resolution of hostilities involving Serbia and Kosovo.
He also credited U.S. pressure for reducing tensions between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Earlier this year, Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen agreed to a ceasefire following joint U.S.-U.K. airstrikes.

Perhaps most notably, Trump claimed his administration had effectively ended the Israel-Iran conflict in less than two weeks, following targeted U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure.
At the ceremony, Trump gave a nod to the late Sean Connery, joking that the Scottish actor helped green-light the project.
“I just want to thank everybody. This has been an unbelievable development. The land, they said, couldn’t get zoned, it was an impossibility,” Trump said.

“And Sean Connery said: ‘Let the bloody bloke build his golf course,'” he recalled, doing a rough imitation of the James Bond icon.
“Once he said that, everything came into line,” Trump added, sprinkling in some Scottish phrasing.
A report from 2008 confirmed Connery supported the project as beneficial for local tourism, though not necessarily with the urgency Trump suggested.

Later on, local officials disputed the idea that Connery’s remarks directly influenced approval.
As the event wrapped up, a reporter asked Trump what message he had for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
“We’re working together to try to get things straightened out for the world,” Trump responded.
The president had met the day before with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Trump Turnberry, another of his Scottish resorts.
When asked about Netanyahu’s recent claim that concerns of famine in Gaza were overstated, Trump responded, “I don’t know. I mean, based on television, I would say not particularly, because those children look very hungry.”
Q: "Netanyahu said there's no starvation in Gaza. Do you agree with that assessment?"

According to a report from a Qatari-funded outlet cited by the Times of Israel, over half the aid trucks that entered Gaza via Egypt on Sunday were looted.
Of the 130 trucks crossing through the Rafah border, 73 were allegedly intercepted near the Morag Axis—an area under Israeli control.
Billing itself as the “Greatest 36 Holes in Golf,” the new course at Trump International Golf Links was designed by Eric Trump.
A PGA Seniors Championship event is scheduled to take place at the venue later this week.
“These are very hard to build, and you won’t see them built anymore. You’ll probably never see another course built in the dunes, not dunes like this,” Trump commented.
This latest project marks the third golf property owned by the Trump Organization in Scotland.

Trump purchased the Turnberry resort in 2014 and launched another course near Aberdeen in 2012.
“We love Scotland. You know, my mother was born here and she loved it. She would come back here religiously once a year during the summers with my sister Marianne, and sometimes my sister Elizabeth. But they would come here religiously,” Trump said Tuesday. “Stornoway. That’s serious Scotland, by the way.”
Trump’s late mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, was born on the Isle of Lewis before immigrating to the United States.
Trump took the first swing at the new course alongside his son Eric and two professional golfers, Rich Beem and Paul McGinley.
The pros reportedly hit longer initial drives, earning applause from the gallery.
Trump’s game on Tuesday follows viral allegations that the president cheated during his time on the links.
On Sunday, a video posted to X by left-leaning account PatriotTakes gained traction online.

The footage shows Trump arriving in a golf cart near a sand trap while a caddie walks ahead and appears to drop a ball in the grass.
Trump walks up to the ball, but the clip ends before he takes a swing.
White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers dismissed the videe outright. “Instead of covering the news that matters to everyday Americans, the legacy media is peddling a false narrative about the President’s legendary golf game,” Rogers said in an emailed response.
