UFC fights are coming to the White House lawn and the event is shaping up to be spectacular.
President Donald Trump, who said in July he would host a UFC championship at the nation’s most iconic residence, now has UFC President Dana White revealing new details about the once-in-a-lifetime event.
Appearing on Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier,” White confirmed that the championship will unfold with a festival-like setup, featuring music, outdoor viewing, and thousands of fans on the South Lawn.
“We’re going to have a stage, where music, you know, we’ll have bands playing all day and then people will be able to bring blankets and, you know, lay around and watch the fights. We’ll have screens up everywhere for everybody,” White said.

He described the spectacle as a “total Washington, D.C. takeover,” with weigh-ins, fan expos, and promotional events scattered throughout the capital.
The idea, according to White, came directly from Trump. “Literally, one day he [Trump] asked me, you know, he loves the White House.”
“He’s so proud of the White House, and he wants to bring the American people back to the White House with lots of different events, and he said, ‘How’d you like to do a fight at the White House?’ He didn’t have to ask me twice. I was in,” White said.
The first renderings just dropped for the UFC event at the White House next year.
Dana White says they are building a lighting arch so that fans can see the White House on one side and the Washington Monument on the other.

Logistics for the South Lawn are still being finalized, with seating likely capped under 5,000 due to weight restrictions on the grounds.
“Like the octagon itself weighs 15,000 pounds, so we don’t know. We’re still working it out, and my vision for this thing is we have this big arch, as you can see, with the lighting grid,” White explained.
“Because what I want is the White House on the back, and then when you shoot, when the fight goes around to the other side, you’ll see the Washington Monument.”
Trump also tapped his daughter Ivanka to oversee the planning. Beyond the South Lawn, White said the Ellipse will hold a massive viewing party with the capacity for up to 85,000 people.
“He [Trump] put Ivanka in charge of handling this thing and putting it together, and when we sent the plans over to Ivanka, she said, ‘Dana, you do not mess around,’” White recalled.
Trump’s relationship with White stretches back decades, with the president showing up at multiple UFC events and receiving loud “USA” chants from fans. White campaigned for Trump in 2024 and continues to stand as a close ally.
AI-generated images released ahead of the event showcase the spectacle’s design.
Renderings show the White House covered in red, white, and blue lights, the UFC octagon positioned against its backdrop, and massive crowds gathered to witness history.
Other images reveal weigh-ins staged at the Lincoln Memorial, dazzling fireworks, and contingency plans like a canopy to cover fans and fighters in case of rain.
One of the sport’s biggest stars has already confirmed he will be part of the show.
Conor McGregor told Fox, “The Mac is excited to get back for sure. I’m on it. This is me. Michael Chandler and myself have done the show The Ultimate Fighter, we’ve had good back and forth, he’s a good, tough guy.”

White added, “We’ll build the greatest card of all time. Conor and I have been talking consistently, he wants this fight bad and when you get to a level that Conor is at you have to find things that motivate you, and the White House card has definitely motivated Conor McGregor.”
Plans include weigh-ins and press conferences held at the Lincoln Memorial, which is under renovation to add a new museum and visitor center.
“This will be one of the greatest and most historic sports events in history, and President Trump hosting it at the White House is a testament to his vision to celebrate America’s monumental 250th anniversary,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said.
During his Fox News appearance, White also shifted to the somber topic of conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination, an event that rocked the political landscape.
“Things started to feel better and get normal again, and then that happened, and it’s almost like, you know, it’s all starting over again,” White said.
He described the toll on his family, saying, “Not just my daughter, a lot of kids were impacted by this, kids who loved and respected Charlie, and it’s just, it’s just hard to wrap your brain around when something like this happens.”
White said his priority is seeing the nation heal. “All I’m looking for over the rest of this year and into next year is some unity, coming back together as a country and stop all the in-fighting and the finger-pointing, and just some normalcy again. Let this country get back to normal.”
On Logan Paul’s podcast, White recalled how he learned of Kirk’s assassination.
“I think I had just woke up and my phone was blowing up. I was f***ing blown away, especially when the video footage started coming out.”
He described the suspected shooter as “this kid who’s a college kid,” stunned that “this kid hit him like that from 200 yards away. It’s so, it’s so crazy.”
White again reiterated that his children were devastated by Kirk’s death. “I was actually surprised by how impacted my kids were, you know. My kids used to watch him on social media. My daughter, she’s 19, she’s in college, and she’s been just destroyed over this thing for the last couple of days.”
Speaking with emotion, White added, “You have to feel horrible for his family and, yeah, it’s f***ing crazy… He was smart enough and had enough class where he could debate without dueling.”
