Spotify podcaster Joe Rogan has thrown his weight behind Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s mission to strip “wokeness” and poor fitness from the United States military, a campaign he says is long overdue.
The comedian voiced his support during Tuesday’s episode featuring members of the country rock group The Red Clay Strays.
The conversation turned to the gathering of officers at Marine Corps Base Quantico earlier this week, where Hegseth unveiled tough new fitness requirements and promised to bring discipline back to the armed forces.
Bassist Andrew Bishop commented on the meeting, sparking Rogan’s remarks about the new direction for the Department of War.
🚨NEW: Joe Rogan suggests Pete Hegseth calling generals together was necessary after "CRAZY PEOPLE" who ran Biden Admin🤣
"No more identity politics and b*llshit. The most important thing is be ready."

Rogan said he was fully behind Hegseth’s vision of eliminating distractions.
“The most important thing is be ready. Be ready and have the most capable military that’s humanly possible given the resources that we have today,” he declared.
Rogan praised the idea that “no more identity politics and bulls***” will get in the way of warfare.
🚨 BREAKING: SecWar Pete Hegseth NUKES fat generals and announces a new twice-yearly PT test for top brass.
"It's unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon, and leading all around the world. It's a BAD LOOK, and it's not who we are!"

He contrasted this approach with the previous administration, which he said had prioritized social causes over readiness.
“You saw what the f**k was going on over the last four years,” Rogan remarked.

“You got guys in dresses talking about how it’s really important to have inclusiveness. It’s the most important thing about the military — is inclusivity.”
The host, who previously interviewed and endorsed President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election, mocked former President Joe Biden’s policies aimed at promoting inclusivity in the ranks.
Rogan even brought up Sam Brinton, the disgraced Biden-era Energy Department official who was charged in multiple states with allegedly stealing women’s luggage.
“That guy was in charge of like f***ing nuclear waste and he’s running around stealing people’s underwear … with lipstick and a bald head,” he noted.
Hegseth’s Tuesday remarks in Virginia left little room for doubt about his intentions.
Pete Hegseth
"No more no more identity months no more DEI garbage, dudes in dresses no more climate change worship no more division, distraction, or gender delusions no more debris, we are done with that shit"
We should see a surge in recruitment after that speech ! pic.twitter.com/x8Y3jG9lA7

“From this moment forward the only mission of the newly restored Department of War is this: war fighting, preparing for war and preparing to win,” he told senior officials.
He also warned foreign adversaries that America’s enemies would “FAFO,” a blunt phrase meaning “f*** around and find out.”
Hegseth stressed that the department’s motto was now “strength through peace,” but he made clear that this strength would require physical excellence.
He blasted the prevalence of overweight troops and even officers. “Frankly, it’s tiring to look out at combat formations, or really any formation, and see fat troops,” he told the military brass.
“Likewise, it’s completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon leading commands around the country and the world.”
He insisted that new rules would not block women from serving, but they would have to meet the same standards as men.
Incredible “back to basics” speech by Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth.
– “When it comes to jobs that require physical power—standards must be high/gender neutral. If women can make it, excellent; if not, it is what it is”.
– “If that means fewer women qualify, so be it”. pic.twitter.com/5STeMLJiuE

“If women can make it, excellent, if they cannot — then so be it … it will also mean that weak men won’t qualify. This is combat,” Hegseth said.
He promised that training would return to “scary, tough, disciplined” conditions where drill sergeants could enforce order more physically aggressively.
The secretary denounced what he called political weakening of the military.
“No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses, no more climate change worship, no more division, distraction or gender delusion, no more debris. I’ve said before and will say again, we are done with that s***,” he announced.
Rogan cheered on this tougher approach, tying it to his own concerns about the cultural climate in America.
During the same episode, he condemned the shocking reaction among progressives to conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s death.
“The Charlie Kirk thing f**king opened up my eyes,” Rogan said. “I never expected so many people would celebrate that man’s murder.”

Red Clay Strays vocalist Brandon Coleman agreed, calling it “evil.”
Rogan added, “It’s just bizarre, like, normal people that, I think, think they’re good people, and they think, they genuinely think, that guy was a bad guy. And I don’t think they’re right. And I think they were indoctrinated.”
Coleman added, “I don’t want to see anybody die,” while Rogan pushed back against the notion that Kirk deserved such vitriol.
“He’s not a bad guy,” Rogan replied, pointing out that Kirk was best known for debating students on college campuses.
Rogan said it was shocking how young Kirk was when his life ended and how it enraged people simply because “they felt like this guy is going against the progress that was being made in society.”
What disturbed Rogan most was the sight of ordinary citizens celebrating Kirk’s public and horrifying demise.
“The fact that people were cheering when he died — normal people, housewives, moms, like f**king people working at banks, people working at various industries — celebrating a man getting shot in front of his kids in the front of the whole world. Like what the f**k is wrong with us?” Rogan asked.
“And that’s why, like, when this Charlie Kirk thing happens, there’s a giant blowback. And most people recognize like, ‘Hey, as a collective, as a society, this is not right.’”
