President Donald Trump has just dropped a bombshell announcement for fight fans.
During a speech at Naval Station Norfolk on Sunday to mark the upcoming 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy, the President revealed that a historic UFC event will take place at the White House on June 14, 2026, which also happens to be his 80th birthday.
While Trump had previously mentioned a UFC event at the White House for 2026 back in July, no specific date had been set.
Initially, a date in early July, coinciding with America’s 250th birthday celebrations, was considered.
According to Trump, a major UFC fight will take place on June 14th next year on the grounds of the White House.

President Trump shares a close friendship with UFC chief Dana White, and their relationship extends far beyond his presidency.
The connection between the two dates back to 2000, when Trump’s Taj Mahal in Atlantic City was one of the only venues in the U.S. willing to host UFC events.
Since taking office, the President has frequently attended UFC fights, with his most recent appearance being at a New Jersey event in June.

Demonstrating the scale of the event, Dana White told the Sports Business Journal this week that the UFC plans to spend $700,000 to replace the South Lawn grass at the White House after the fights.
White is aiming for an unprecedented lineup for the June 2026 event.
After UFC 320 on Saturday night, he predicted he will have “the greatest fight card ever assembled.”
The first renderings just dropped for the UFC event at the White House next year.

“If you look at what we’re looking down the barrel of now, we’re about to go on a new network on Paramount. We need to deliver a massive, incredible card in January,” White stated, according to Yahoo Sports.
“Then in February, we’ll start looking at building the White House card, which I will right now tell you will be the greatest fight card ever assembled in the history of, at least, definitely this company.”
The production details are already taking shape. White recently announced that fighters on the White House card will make their grand entrances from the Oval Office before walking out to the Octagon.
“The fights will happen on the South Lawn of the White House,” he remarked on Shannon Sharpe and Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson’s “Nightcap” podcast.

“Do you know what is probably the most bada** thing about that? The fighters will actually walk from the Oval Office into the Octagon.”
White mentioned that while fewer than 5,000 fans will be in direct attendance, a viewing area might accommodate up to 85,000 people.
One of the headliners expected to compete is none other than Conor McGregor.
White noted the event has sparked the fighter’s interest. “Conor and I have been talking consistently, he wants this fight bad and when you get to a level that Conor is at you have to find things that motivate you, and the White House card has definitely motivated Conor McGregor.”
Earlier this week, McGregor, a former lightweight and featherweight champion, declared that his UFC comeback is a “done deal” for the White House card, which would mark nearly five years since his last fight.
“Done deal, signed, delivered. It ain’t a negotiation. It’s a done deal, signed, delivered,” the former two-weight UFC champion said on Fox News.
“McGregor will compete in the White House alongside the President and President Trump’s administration.”

He also revealed a staggering $7.7 billion agreement with Paramount to air the fight, approved by Dana White.
However, White seemed to pump the brakes slightly on Saturday, saying the plans are still in preliminary stages.
“We’re still talking about the production and how everything’s gonna work at the White House,” he explained.
“We have not started negotiating any fights for the White House yet.”
McGregor had previously spoke about his involvement with the historic fight.
Sean Hannity told viewers that “McGregor has reportedly set a pretty high price for this fight, $100 million, and explained how he is not negotiating with the UFC like usual, but with the U.S. Government on behalf of Ireland.”
McGregor commented on his preparations, saying, “Right now, we’re eight months out. Dial a few things in, you know, close off a bit of business endeavors and then isolate myself in training camp in preparation to put on one hell of a show for the American people,” he remarked.
“In celebration of their great birthday, 250 years of independence, and I pray it can ignite the support for the people of Ireland.”
This development comes as McGregor recently dipped his toes into the political arena.
Last month, he asked Irish citizens to help get him on the ballot for president just weeks before the election, issuing a call for support on social media in early September.
“Citizens of Ireland, the time for real change is now!” he posted on X. “As President, I will not sign any bill in law until it goes back to the people first!”

He urged followers, “If you want to see my name on the ballot for the Presidency, I urge you to contact your local county councillors today and ask them to nominate me.”
He also addressed councillors directly: “If you are a councillor who feels your voice is ignored, your hands tied, and your community overlooked, then I ask you to stand with me. Nominate me, and I will give you the platform and power to be truly heard.”
He concluded with the Gaelic phrase, “Ar aghaidh, ar son na hEireann,” meaning “Forward for Ireland.”
Ireland’s presidential election is on October 24. To run, candidates must be an Irish citizen aged 35 or older and secure an endorsement from at least 20 members of the Irish parliament or four of Ireland’s 31 local authorities.
McGregor described these rules as a “straitjacket” that prevented “a true democratic presidential election being contested”.
However, McGregor withdrew from the race in mid-September. In a social media post, he explained the decision came “following careful reflection, and after consulting with my family.”
“This was not an easy decision, but it is the right one at this moment in time,” he added.
The 37-year-old fighter, who first declared his intention to run last year, said he was “truly humbled” by the “support and encouragement” he had received.
