“The View” panel insisted that migrants should be “resettled elsewhere” outside of the Big Apple, after mayor said influx will “destroy” the city.
During Friday’s episode the co-hosts discussed the growing issue of illegal immigration and the dramatic impact of their surging numbers on New York City.
The conversation was sparked by remarks made by Democratic Mayor Eric Adams this week, who warned that the touted sanctuary city is on the verge of destruction due to the influx of illegal immigrants.
“This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City,” Adams said during a Wednesday night Town Hall meeting. “We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month.”

He explained that previously they had just been receiving migrants from Venezuela, but were currently seeing Ecuadorians, western Africans, and Russian speakers coming through the southern border.
“Now we getting people from all over the globe have made their minds up that they’re going to come through the southern part of the border and coming into New York City,” Adams continued. “And everyone is saying it’s New York City’s problem.”
He noted that all the city’s boroughs were “in this together,” despite each of them attempting to send migrants off to other areas in the city.
“It’s gonna come to your neighborhoods. All of us are going to be impacted by this,” Adams concluded.
“I said it last year when we had 15,000. I’m telling you now with 110,000. The city we knew, we’re about to lose.
After airing the clip of Adams speaking, Behar said his statements seemed a “little dramatic,” and that conservatives “loved” that a sanctuary city would be “complaining about migrants.

She questioned if Adams was correct to gripe, as there are approximately 100,000 migrants currently residing in the city and more arriving each day.
Sunny Hostin expressed her disappointment, highlighting the stark contrast between America’s ideals of welcoming the weak and the reality faced by migrants seeking refuge.
The lawyer said that she was “disappointed” by Adams and that he had received over more than $1.5 billion in funding, but was still putting his hand out for more.
Alyssa Farah-Griffin called for securing the borders without building a border wall, and “prioritizing” both asylum seekers and “migrants who are coming here to work.”
Ana Navarro noted that the four countries where most migrants are coming from – Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, and Haiti – either were ruled by dictators, or war torn.
“This is not a federal problem,” she said. “This is not an American problem. This is a regional problem. This is a world problem.”
She accused Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of making “performative” moves by bussing migrants to Vice President Kamala Harris’ home and putting up “drowning devices” in the Rio Grande.
“That’s performative. What we need is legislation. We need cooperation with other countries,” she continued.
“We need cooperation with refuge resettlement programs worldwide, so not everybody comes to the United States.”
Navarro noted that she immigrated to Miami from Cuba in the eighties with 125,000 others, which put “tremendous stress” on the city.
“They need to be resettled elsewhere,” she concluded.
“They need to spread out,” Haines chimed in. “We have this massive country.”
Unsurprisingly, Behar managed to bring the talking back to a favored liberal talking point, climate change.
“And it’s only gonna get worse with global warming and climate change because people can’t live in certain parts of this world,” Behar stated.
Haines said that part of New York City’s problem was the 20,000 new students attending classes this year without Spanish speaking staff in schools.
“Well he wanted the job, so do your job, Mayor,” Behar glibly remarked.
