An Oklahoma elementary school was admonished by the state’s superintendent for hiring a drag queen as principal.
Shane Murnan is the principal of John Glenn Elementary School by day, but at night goes by Shantel Mandalay, a drag performer.
According to Murnan’s Facebook page, he was formerly a working drag queen at “The Boom,” a “high-energy gay bar” in Oklahoma City, that features dinner theater, live comedy, and drag shows.
In addition to his night job, Murnan read books to children while dressed in drag during Pride for the Metropolitan Library System.

Ryan Walters, the superintendent of the State of Oklahoma, said the decision to hire Murnan in June was “liberal insanity.”
“It’s outrageous to have a drag queen running a school, you know, here in Oklahoma that doesn’t line up with Oklahoma values,” Walters said in an interview with Fox News Digital.
“I hear from parents every day that are concerned with this woke left-wing indoctrination or schools, this gender theory that continues to be thrust upon our kids. It’s completely inappropriate.”
Walters believes that hiring Murnan is part of a liberal agenda to “break down” the minds of children.
“I think that the left has absolutely an agenda for our kids, that they are at war with our kids in the classroom,” he told the outlet. “What they are doing is injecting this ideology for an end goal here.”
“Their end goal is to absolutely break down a child’s mind, break down the classroom, break down the family, and you see the results that have come from this.”

He thinks that the left is trying to “create” future Democratic voters by getting kids to “turn on their parents” to embrace “leftist ideology.”
Walters said that the way to accomplish parental alienation was to get inform children that they’re “gender-fluid” and that they can change their pronouns, which they promote by exposing the to “sexual material.

When the kid takes it home and their parent is outraged by it, the kids turn on their parents,” he insisted.
“This is absolutely trying to break down that family unit, so the kid is more susceptible to the most radical Marxist gender ideology we’ve ever seen to pit groups of people against each other. And frankly, it’s to create Democrat voters.”
To make Murnan’s hiring even more insane, he had previously been charged with possession of illicit materials featuring children.
The 20-year-old charges were eventually dismissed because investigators were unable to prove that the people in the photographs were minors.
The Western heights Public School district acknowledged the charges in a June 12 post announcing Murnan’s new position.
“Recently, the district has been made aware of previous charges that were dismissed more than 20 years ago,” a Facebook post read.
The brushed statement off by noting that Muran has been teaching for a quarter of a century and was “highly recommended” by previous employers due to his “outstanding reputation.”
The state’s superintendent said that Murnan “is not fit to lead a school district,” and insisted that “no parent” wants their children to be exposed to “radical gender theory” at school.
“This woke war on our kids has to stop. We will not allow it in Oklahoma. This is the liberal insanity that every parent wants out of the classroom,” Walters continued.
“We will not allow our kids to be part of their radical-left game for pushing ideology and furthering their end goal, which is creating social justice warriors instead of students that understand how education is a path for success for them,” he concluded. “We will not allow it. This will stop.”
