Watch Ex-NFL Player Fight With Police On Plane After Arrest For Murdering Mother

Shocking footage shows former NFL star Sergio Brown fought Mexican officers aboard a plane while he was in their custody.

The authorities were attempting to extradite Brown back to the United States, where he faces charges over the alleged murder of his mother, Myrtle Jean Simmons-Brown.

After almost a month on the run, Brown, 35, was apprehended while trying to reenter the country.

During the altercation on the flight from Mexico City, footage captured by CBS8 showed Brown engaging in a brawl with immigration officers.

In the video, Brown can be heard vehemently protesting, claiming, “They’re kidnapping me again, I’m from Chicago. I should not be going to Tijuana.”

The footage reveals two Mexican immigration officers attempting to restrain the former safety, who played for the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts.

Despite their efforts, Brown manages to shove one officer into the aisle and makes attempts to strike them. However, the officer successfully dodges his swings.

In a desperate attempt to break free, Brown grabs hold of the officer’s uniform near his neck and shouts, “Let me go!”

Brown also pleads with other passengers, exclaiming, “This is kidnapping.” Throughout the ordeal, Brown remains agitated, waving his arms and raving as the officers attempt to contain his fury.

The incident lasted for approximately an hour and a half until officials were finally able to remove Brown from the plane.

According to CNN, Brown was arrested on Tuesday in San Diego after the flight landed.

Police issued a warrant for first-degree murder after his mother was found dead in a creek behind her home in September.

After examining her body, officials in Maywood, Illinois, determined that she had been assaulted and ruled the death a homicide.

Brown conveniently went missing around the time of his mother’s death, after a neighbor witnessed the mother-son pair together prior to her murder.

A video on the neighbor’s Ring doorbell showed Brown burning her clothes in a bonfire and taking out the trash.

“They said he wasn’t himself the last few months. He was out of his mind,” the neighbor remarked.

Brown’s brother Nick pleaded with the former NFL player to return home in a post on Instagram, following their mother’s murder.

“My brother Sergio is still missing,” he posted. “If anyone knows where he is I want him to know that I love you and please come home.”

Days later, Brown posted an unhinged rant that referenced the flick “Finding Nemo” on an Instagram account.

“Just keep swimming, just keep swimming,” he said in the video. “What the f–k? Missing? They ain’t never seen ‘Finding Nemo’?”

“What the f–k is going on? This is traumatic. Lucky I don’t have to say a joke. What the f–k? Just keep swimming,” he stated before cackling.

In another video, he said that his mother’s death was “fake news” and claimed she was on vacation.

“It had to be the FBI or the Maywood Police. I thought my f–king mama was on vacation in Sinaloa,” Brown insisted. “That’s f–king fake news, get the f–k out my goddamn of my face.”

“She’s retired … the FBI had to do it, they have the power to do s–t like that. What the f–k is going on? That’s fake news. Don’t come f–king with me,” he concluded.

According to her neighbors, Simmons-Brown was “an outstanding woman,” and they “never would’ve expected [her murder] in a million years.”

“Just a lovely lady. Very soft-spoken, outgoing. Always on the go,” neighbor Kevin Grayer said. “Just a happy person. Her personality was just wonderful.”

“She didn’t deserve that,” he concluded. “She was too good of a person to die like that. That’s just sad.”
