Kamu Kirk’s Big Brother run is getting hit with calls for his removal after viewers dug up a video of him laughing through an arrest outside his residence and cracking a George Floyd joke.
The resurfaced Instagram clip was posted in December by Kirk, the 32-year-old Season 28 housemate and MMA fighter whose full name is Gabriel Xavier Kamuela Kirk.
The person being arrested is not shown clearly, but their voice can be heard yelling, “I can’t breathe!” as officers try to get them into a vehicle.
Kirk filmed himself walking away from the scene, smiling as he repeated the phrase.

“I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe,” Kirk said in the video.
Then he made the reference that set off the latest backlash.
“Bro thinks he’s George Floyd,” Kirk said.

George Floyd died in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in May 2020 after police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly 10 minutes during an arrest.
Floyd was 46. Chauvin and the other officers at the scene were fired the next day, and Chauvin was later convicted of unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
He was sentenced to 22-and-a-half years in state prison.
Kirk’s clip continued after the Floyd reference. He remarked that people were cheering the arrest, then headed back inside.
“People are crazy, man. I’m going back inside,” Kirk said.
The final punchline appeared to be about the parking space occupied by the person being arrested.
“I am gonna take that spot, though,” Kirk said.
The video quickly became removal material for Big Brother fans already angry at Kirk.
One viewer demanded to see “kamu has been removed from the big brother house” circulating online as soon as possible.
Another fan argued that public outrage was the only way production would punish him, writing, “This man is currently playing big brother, and media backlash is the only way where production would punish Kamu.”
The backlash did not stop with the George Floyd clip.
Viewers began combing through Kirk’s social media accounts and pointing to other posts.
Fans also circulated an image from Kirk’s Instagram highlights showing the U.S. Capitol.

Kirk’s caption on the image read, “Who’s storming with me?”
The old posts surfaced after Kirk had already irritated viewers during Wednesday’s Big Brother episode.
The episode showed Kirk talking with Survivor alumnus Rick Devens about a previous scene in which Jason De Puy and fellow housemate Drew Campbell dressed in women’s clothing.
De Puy had previously competed on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
Kirk referred to De Puy on camera as a “zesty bestie,” a phrase some people interpret as homophobic, and told Devens he wanted distance from the drag scene.
“I said, “Bro, miss me with the drag stuff,” Kirk said. “Miss me. I’m still an MMA guy, and I have an image to uphold.”
Frankie Grande, Ariana Grande’s older half-brother, who previously appeared on Big Brother, tore into Kirk on X after that conversation aired.
“Um. What the f*** is this horses***?! Get these homophobic bigots out of the f***ing house IMMEDIATELY. Both of them,” Grande wrote.

Grande said the exchange made him sick and warned that he expected the backlash to grow.
“Ew this conversation makes me sick to my stomach. I’m disgusted. This better be the biggest thing ever when I wake up tomorrow or I’m flipping a table… f***. Ew. Gross.”
After the George Floyd video resurfaced, Grande’s anger only escalated.
“You guys. Enough. How is this monster still in the house. WHAT THE F***?!” he wrote while reposting the clip.
Grande then shared Kirk’s Capitol image and called for the show to bypass the normal vote.
“Evict Kamu. Skip tonight’s live eviction.”
The Big Brother blowup came as another reality television personality was facing felony charges in a separate case involving a child.
Sidney Favors, the performer known as Sidney Starr, was arrested in Hapeville, Georgia, and booked on charges tied to child molestation allegations.
Favors has appeared on reality shows “Love & Hip Hop” and “Baddies.”
Hapeville police announced Monday that Favors, 37, had been arrested the day before at the Embassy Suites hotel on International Boulevard.
Records from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office show Favors was booked on sexual battery against a child under 16 years of age, aggravated child molestation and sodomy.
Police said they would not provide further information because the case involves a juvenile.
“Because this case involves a juvenile, no additional information will be released from our agency,” Hapeville police said.
TMZ reported that Favors allegedly confessed to performing oral sex on the minor in a hotel in Hapeville.
