“Stand By Me” director Rob Reiner will apparently “give anything” for popstar Taylor Swift to publicly endorse President Joe Biden in the upcoming election.
“I’m in the midst of shooting a sequel to This is Spinal Tap,” he tweeted on Thursday morning. “As much as I’d like Taylor Swift to do a cameo in the film, I’d give anything for her to endorse Joe Biden.”
Reiner dramatically added that “she would virtually single-handedly save American Democracy” by backing Biden.
Fellow Hollywood liberal “Star Wars” lead Mark Hamill assured him that Swift had “endorsed Biden in 2020 & will undoubtedly do so again.”

While one commenter pointed out the obvious: “I don’t know who needs to hear this but if your vote is pending based on whoever Taylor Swift tells you to vote for maybe sit this one out.”
Swift’s endorsement is reportedly highly coveted by the Biden campaign, who have prioritized leveraging Hollywood as part of their “Anti-Trump Battle Plan.”
According to the New York Times, “Biden aides are drafting wish lists of potential surrogates, including elected officials, social media influencers and the endorsement of their wildest dreams: the global superstar Taylor Swift.”
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has previously laughed off the article, but noted that there “a lot of Swifties” in the White House press office.
Despite Jean-Pierre’s rebuttal, Biden has clearly been leaning on liberal Hollywood to prop up his campaign.
Earlier this month, Biden enlisted celebrities who have played the president on television or movies to hype of his State of the Union address.
Biden virtually met with the likes of Morgan Freeman, Michael Douglas, Geena Davis, Bill Pullman, and Tony Goldwyn, at Camp David to give him advice on the “big speech” he had coming up.
The actors all gave scripted answers that were clearly call-backs to their famous roles as Commander-in-Chief.
“I had it easy — we just had invaders from outer space coming in wanting to mess with us, and that tends to unify people,” remarked Pullman, who played the president in Will Smith alien flick “Independence Day.”
“I’m not so sure it was the greatest speech ever, but I did manage to say two things,” he added.
“One is that we can’t be consumed by our petty differences, and we will be united in our common interests. And somehow these words became something to remember.”
When the video concluded, Biden cheesily added that he had “never spoke to so many presidents all at one time.”
The president recently made his priorities very clear, when he attended a star-studded fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall in New York City this week, rather than a slain cop’s funeral.
Biden managed to rake in over $26 million at the event, which was hosted by comedian Mindy Kaling.
Liberal late-night host Stephen Colbert moderated an hour-long conversation between former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Biden.
At one point, Colbert took a jab at former President Donald Trump, when he quipped that the event was historic because “three presidents have come to New York, and not one of them to appear in court.”
The fundraiser also included appearances by Lea Michele, Queen Latifah, Lizzo, Ben Platt, and Cynthia Erivo.
On the same day, in the same city, Trump chose to attend the wake of New York Police Officer Jonathan Diller, who was killed on Monday by a criminal with an extensive rap sheet.
“The View” co-panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin admitted that Trump “resonates” better with middle America than Biden does.
“I have to say Donald Trump is getting smarter,” she told CNN about her former boss on Thursday morning.
“This is his third time running now, he knows what he‘s doing in a way that there‘s a sophistication that wasn’t there. And I do think this works.”
“He‘s always had his finger on the pulse of what middle America actually cares about,” she added.
“A slain officer who the person killed him shouldn‘t have been out, that’s something that resonates more than a bunch of celebrities at Radio City Music Hall.”
