Jimmy Kimmel took a shot at former President Donald Trump after he mistakenly lambasted the late night host for a gaffe he didn’t make while hosting the Academy Awards.
Their latest tiff started on the first day of Trump’s hush money trial when the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host mocked the Republican presidential candidate for seeming to fall asleep during jury selection.
“If Biden is Sleepy Joe, I guess that makes you Dozo the Clown,” Kimmel snarked on Monday night’s episode.
“Imagine if Joe Biden fell asleep in the court on the first day of his trial,” he continued. “Trump would be calling him ‘Comatose Joe’ . . . But not old Donny Nappleseed.”

He also trash talked the ex-president’s Trump Media & Technology Group, which went public on March 26, and has both surged and fallen volatilely since the Truth Social operator debuted on the market.
“Multiple reports said Trump’s head drooped until his chin hit his chest, which, I don’t know, maybe he was just following the price of his Truth Social stock,” Kimmel quipped.
“Either way, it’s nice to see even Donald Trump is exhausted by Donald Trump.”
Trump was wide awake after the proceedings concluded for the day, telling reporters, “This is a persecution like never before.”
“Nobody’s ever seen anything like it. And again, it’s a case that should have never been brought,” he remarked. “It’s an assault on America, and that’s why I’m very proud to be here.”
Kimmel apparently couldn’t resist using the 45th president’s criminal trial as fodder for his opening monologue on Tuesday night.
He referred to day two of jury selection as “another Stormy day in New York in the new episode of ‘The Orange People’s Court’ today, starring Donald J. Trump as the defendant in his first of many criminal trials to come. We have a lot to look forward to.”
Kimmel made a crack about a Truth Social post Trump made in reference to the trial’s judge on the same day. “Only Donald Trump would complain about being under a gag order while violating that very gag order,” he told the audience.
The late night host also claimed that 34 criminal counts of falsifying business records to allegedly cover up a $130,000 pay off to adult film star Stormy Daniels in an effort to keep her quiet about their purported affair in 2016 wasn’t actually necessary.
Kimmel claimed that Trump allegedly ponied up the cash “so his supporters wouldn’t find out he’s a lying, cheating scumbag, but the joke is on Trump because turns out his supporters don’t care that he’s a lying, cheating scumbag.”

“He could have saved himself a whole trial and 130 grand,” he added.
Trump unleashed on Kimmel in a scathing rebuke of the Oscar host’s performance at the 96th annual awards show, where he infamously read one of the ex-president’s posts out loud during the live broadcast.
“Stupid Jimmy Kimmel, who still hasn’t recovered from his horrendous performance and big ratings drop as Host of The Academy Awards, especially when he showed he suffered from TDS, commonly known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, to the entire World,” Trump posted on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, the next part of his social media attack was less than accurate, when he confused Kimmel with actor Al Pacino, who made a gaffe while announcing the Best Picture.
Trump insisted that Kimmel was rattled after he read his Truth Social post on live television right before he “stumbled through announcing the biggest award of all, ‘Picture of the Year’.”
“It was a CLASSIC CHOKE, one of the biggest ever in show business, and to top it off, he forgot to say the famous and mandatory line, ‘AND THE WINNER IS’. Instead he stammered around as he opened the envelope,” Trump went on about what was actually Pacino’s error while announcing “Oppenheimer’s” win.
At the time, Kimmel mocked Trump during the show for making the post critiquing his hosting abilities, quipping, “Isn’t past your jail time,” in response.
“Supposedly his wife, and even management, begged him not to do it, “DON’T READ HIS TRUTH, JIMMY, PLEASE DON’T DO THIS,” they said,” Trump wrote on Wednesday.
“He was made to look like a FOOL, which he is, and at the same time go down in Television History as the WORST HOST EVER OF THE ONCE VAUNTED ACADEMY AWARDS!”

Kimmel clapped back social media on Wednesday morning with a tweet that conceded, “In fairness to our former President, many stable geniuses confuse me with Al Pacino….”
The Biden administration was quick to capitalize on Trump’s error on Wednesday when their X, formerly Twitter, account posted: “A feeble and confused Trump posts an error-riddled rant falsely claiming that Jimmy Kimmel presented Best Picture (or, as he describes, “Picture of the Year”) at the Oscars.”
