Dennis Quaid took aim at Vice Presdient Kamala Harris, when he told Spotify podcaster Joe Rogan that he couldn’t see her “being in charge” of the country.
During Thursday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the 70-year-old actor and the 57-year-old comedian tore into the Democratic nominee.
Rogan commented that Democrats are more focused on “being in power” than “preserving the idea of democracy,” a sentiment Quaid “totally” agreed with.
Rogan attributed the phenomenon to Democrats “essentially running the country without a president for the last three years,” noting that President Joe Biden has “vanished” since announcing he wouldn’t run again.

Quaid quipped, “Who’s running it now?” Rogan replied, “Exactly! And then the crazy thing is Kamala Harris.”
The “Reagan” star expressed doubt about Harris’s ability to lead, “I really can’t see her, like, being in charge,” he remarked.
“No, it’s a figurehead, that’s all it is,” Rogan said before referencing a satirical article from The Babylon Bee, mocking Harris’s promises to enact changes while being in office herself.
“They said, ‘When I get in office, I’m going to change things, says the woman who’s in office right now.’ Because she’s in office!” he cited.
Rogan said Harris was “talking about fixing all these things,” despite being “essentially the president right now,” which he noted she’ll be for five more months.
“She’s flipped on everything except for plastic straws,” Quaid added, noting Harris’s stance on environmental issues. “She still wants to get rid of those.”
Recently, Rogan praised a speech Harris gave in Atlanta, calling it a “banger.”
He noted that her strong performance could pose a “problem” for former President Donald Trump in a debate.
“I do have to say that one speech she gave right after they decided she was going to be the nominee, that one speech where she said, “If you’re going to say something, why don’t you say it to my face?” It was great timing,” the UFC commenter conceded.
Joe Rogan says Kamala Harris "crushed it" with her Atlanta speech:

Rogan aired a clip of Harris challenged opponents to “say it to her face,” and complimented her “outstanding” delivery and presence.
“She had the big moment and she crushed it. She did it without any ums or stammers, no f**king missed words, she had a smile, the laugh made sense — it made sense there for the first time!” he cheered while slipping in a jab at her tendency towards word salads.
“She did that like a pro. That’s where it gets dangerous,” he cautioned. “She f**king nailed it.”
During his interview with Rogan, Quaid shared his thoughts on Trump’s first term, appreciating Trump’s actions despite not loving the statements he made at the time.
“The only thing that I liked about Trump was everything that he did,” the actor commented. “I would cringe at so much stuff that he said.”
“We need a really strong leader like that to deal with these assholes.”

“But I think his heart was really in the right place, and not only that, we need a really strong leader like that to deal with these assholes that run the other world — there are some bad actors out there.”
Rogan agreed and criticized mainstream media for exaggerating fears of Trump becoming a dictator if re-elected.
He argued that Trump’s previous term didn’t exhibit dictatorial behavior, accusing the media of gaslighting the public.
“And the wildest thing is that people pretending that if he gets into office, he’s going to become a dictator,” Rogan remarked.
“As if he wasn’t in office for four years, and was never a dictator. We’re just being gaslit and lied to on a scale that I’ve never seen in my life.”
Earlier this week, Quaid accused Facebook of censoring promotional content for his new flick “Reagan,” claiming the platform blocked ads using quotes from the former president.
He also alleged that the social media platform had suspended the movie’s page for sharing his interviews with conservative outlet Fox News and controversial YouTuber Jordan Peterson.
Quaid compared Facebook’s actions to Soviet censorship, questioning if tech giants are controlling free speech and hinting that Facebook might be silencing conservative content.
“Facebook is once again censoring the free flow of ideas, deciding what’s best for us to see and hear; only this time it’s throttling advertising and promotion for my movie about Ronald Reagan,” he told Newsweek in an email.
“Like the old Soviet Union—are we turning into a country of tech oligarchs who control the platform of groupthink to silence the individual or ‘other’ groups?”
Newsweek reported that video clips of Quaid discussing the movie caused Facebook to temporarily suspend the account at least twice. Facebook told the outlet the restrictions might have been an error in the platform.
