Actor Bradley Whitford, known for portraying liberal political aides on screen, blasted President Donald Trump, in the wake of a violent attack on Minnesota lawmakers.
In a post on X, the Hollywood star directly linked Trump to the deaths of a Minnesota state representative and her husband, who were killed at their home.
Whitford claimed the president “set the stage” for the violence. A state senator and his wife were also reportedly attacked and shot multiple times during the same incident.
The suspected assailant, Vance Luther Bolter, was appointed to the state’s Workforce Development Board in 2019 by Governor Tim Walz.

Law enforcement confirmed Bolter had anti-Trump “No Kings” flyers in his vehicle.
“Trump is a lawless traitor. His pardon of 1/6 insurrectionists set the stage for today’s lethal attacks on elected officials,” Whitford declared.
He continued, describing Trump as “a malignant narcissist, a bully, and a coward who fetishizes violence.”

Whitford went on to urge Americans to resist nonviolently. “We must answer this madness with peaceful resistance,” he added. “Despair is a luxury our children can’t afford.”
Minnesota authorities confirmed the anti-Trump materials recovered from Bolter’s car matched those being distributed during Saturday’s nationwide protests, known as the “No Kings” demonstrations.

The movement’s name is derived from a claim that Trump is consolidating executive power to undemocratic levels during his second term.
Whitford spent much of the day sharing images and footage from the protests.
Demonstrators gathered in major cities including Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and other places all over the nation.
These protests were staged in opposition to a rare military parade held in Washington D.C. in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, which coincided with President Trump’s birthday.
During the parade, the president stood and saluted thousands of uniformed troops, tanks, and marching bands.

“Our soldiers never give up,” Trump said. “Never surrender and never, ever quit. They fight, fight, fight. And they win, win, win.”
The president had warned in advance that any attempts to disrupt the event would be met with “heavy force.”
According to local reports, more than 200,000 attended the festivities, with peak attendance for the evening fireworks reaching approximately 800,000.
Whitford, however, appears focused not only on attacking Trump, but also on executives in positions of corporate influence who have remained silent.
In a separate outburst reported by Variety, “The Haidmaid’s Tale” star was seen speaking inside a crowded Lower East Side cafe, visibly angry over what he views as a cultural crisis in America. The actor had pointed words for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
“It’s interesting, especially when you look at all the people who I’ve worked for over the years lined up at the Trump inauguration, staying silent while their daughters’ rights are being torn away,” he said in April.
“It’s the end of democracy, and the planet’s on fire,” Whitford added. “But we’re focused on a renaissance in shoe comfort and cosmetic dentistry.”
He also didn’t hold back when it came to the Hollywood executives he performs for.
“Misogyny is at the reptilian brain stem of these right-wing Christian white nationalists,” the actor claimed. “It’s punitive. And, man, I’m pissed at all the people I work for. Like, fucking speak up.”
Whitford continued, referencing Disney, one of his current employers. “I mean, if you run Disney, which I guess I work for now, I’ve sat through,” he began, before mocking studio executives.
“We really care for you and want to make sure you have access to health care,” the former “West Wing” star continued.
“Speak the f**k up!” he shouted, loud enough to turn heads inside the restaurant. “And Jeff Bezos, f**king speak up!”
Whitford has previously worked on Amazon’s Transparent, a series that tackled themes of gender identity.
During his remarks, he challenged Bezos’s past commitment to social issues.
“I don’t want to be a punk attacking, but I would really like to ask Jeff Bezos — who, when I worked on Transparent, was talking about the importance of supporting this vulnerable community who has been turned into a political football — ‘What the hell is happening here?!’”
The actor then addressed what he described as a feeling of helplessness among many Americans.
“We feel this despair because we feel we have no agency over what’s happening to us in this country,” he remarked. “I don’t care how political I sound. I wish f**king Jeff Bezos would sound a little f**king political.”
