Rare Hollywood conservative James Woods called out the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) for sympathizing with a transgender killer over the families his the victims.

A day after convicted rapist and murderer Duane Owen was executed in Florida, the civil rights organization complained that the man who was responsible for viciously raping and murdering two women did not receive “gender-affirming care” while on death row.

“The state of Florida never provided medically necessary gender-affirming care to Duane Owen,” the ACLU tweeted on Friday.

“Causing her enormous suffering and violating her right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment for the more than 30 years she was in state custody.”

If HE had been executed in a timely manner, it wouldn’t have been a problem. Then the loved ones of HIS murdered victims wouldn’t have been the ones who actually suffered for thirty years. https://t.co/AlDN1FhasI

Woods was amongst the many prominent social media commenters who blasted the ACLU for their misplaced sympathy.

“If HE had been executed in a timely manner, it wouldn’t have been a problem,” Woods wrote in a scathing message on Saturday.

“Then the loved ones of HIS murdered victims wouldn’t have been the ones who actually suffered for thirty years.”

Duane Owen horrifically tortured, raped, and murdered 14-year-old Karen Slattery and 38-year-old Georgianna Worden. He slowly sliced them with his knife and then stabbed and bludgeoned his victims to death, raping them as they died.

Owen raped and and stabbed 14-year-old Karen Slattery to death while she was babysitting two children in their Palm Beach County, Florida home in March 1984.

Two months later he raped and bludgeoned to death 38-year-old mother of two Georgianna Worden, who was asleep in her home with her two children in Palm Peach County.

One of the children reportedly found her body when they were getting ready for school the next day.

He attacked two other women in the same area who survived, before he was arrested by law enforcement.

Owen was sentenced to six life sentences and the death penalty in March 1984 at the age of 23.

He remained on Florida’s death row for nearly 40 years, with his lawyers coming up with a litany of excuses to prevent his execution.

They appealed on the grounds of insanity, claiming that he was he was schizophrenic and suffered from delusions.

Debbie Johnson, younger sister of Karen Slattery, said that Duane Owen did not open his eyes and he made no verbal statement. "He died with dignity and unfortunately his victims did not." https://t.co/M4zOuQM00f pic.twitter.com/CxWRB89Tdy

State psychiatrists testified at his appeal that Owen was faking the diagnosis and showed no signs of the illness.

His lawyers pivoted to argue that he had dementia, but Florida shrinks said that his memory was perfectly intact.

In a last ditch effort, they claimed that Owen was transgender and suffering from gender dysphoria.

Once again, the state ruled that the long-time inmate didn’t present as female, and that gender dysphoria does not cause aggressive and s*xually sadistic behavior.

Owen was executed by lethal injection on Thursday, which prompted the ACLU’s sickening statement.

In a follow-up post, the civil rights group added: “In legal papers she drafted, Owen wrote that she ‘should be accorded the ‘essence of human dignity’ and be allowed to become ‘who she was meant to be’ before her death. No one should be killed by the state. The time to end the racist, unfair and cruel death penalty is now.”

Social media users took to Twitter to trash the ACLU for their take on Owen’s long-awaited execution.

“This man stabbed 14-year-old Karen Slattery 18 times, killing her, then raped her corpse. He committed murder again years later,” replied conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey.

“The only injustice in Owen’s case is that it took the state 40 years to execute him.”

“HE wanted to be housed in a women’s prison. Presumably because as a violent rapist he wanted to be around more potential victims in a captive space,” added Gov. Ron DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw.

“Good thing we don’t do that in Florida,” she noted.

“A certain group of loud, obnoxious and sexually deviant activists are more upset about the execution of Duane Owen than they are about what he did to Karen Slattery. Let that sink in,” tweeted journalist Ian Miles Cheong.

Podcaster Meghan Murphy summed up her critique in a single powerful sentence: “The @aclu is run by sociopaths.”
