In a hilarious celebration of “May the Fourth,” the White House used the beloved “Star Wars Day” to take a public swipe at political opponents, releasing an AI-generated image of President Donald Trump wielding a lightsaber, which left one franchise star fuming.
On Sunday, the official White House account marked the fan-favorite day with a post combining the iconic movie and pointed political messaging.
“Happy May the 4th to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting so hard to bring Sith Lords, Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, & well known MS-13 Gang Members, back into our Galaxy,” they White House posted. “You’re not the Rebellion—you’re the Empire. May the 4th be with you.”
Accompanying the statement was clearly AI crafted image of Trump wearing a Jedi robe, standing heroically with muscular arms exposed, gripping a red lightsaber.

Behind him stood two bald eagles and two American flags, framing the scene in unmistakable “Star Wars” insipred patriotic symbolism.
The image, quickly drew fire from far-left detractors, particularly over the red lightsaber, which is traditionally a symbol of villainy in the Star Wars universe.
Actor Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker and has been an outspoken Trump critic, snapped back, “Proof this guy is full of SITH.”
Fixed it for you! @realDonaldTrump is not a sith, he is 100% Jedi! May the 4th be with you. pic.twitter.com/P8779aq3ws

Hamill’s jab hinged on the red hue of Trump’s saber, a color aligned in the fictional galaxy with Sith Lords such as Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and Emperor Palpatine.
Lightsabers carried by heroes like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker typically glow blue or green.
Pretty sure @MarkHamill is a leftist nut nutbag at this point. pic.twitter.com/Vn8Ha7VEap

Social media users piled on, echoing Hamill’s sentiment. “Red lightsaber. You know that’s the bad guys right,” one user commented.
Another asked, “How do you not have one nerd on staff to tell you what color lightsaber is good and what color is bad???”
“If Trump carries a red lightsaber, that means he’s part of the Sith and is evil. Fitting!” someone else added.

However, one user pointed out that, “Red is literally one of the three colors in our nation’s flag. He is the leader of the Republican Party which is often ascribed the color Red. Context matters.”
The Department of Defense’s Rapid Response division also joined the fray, posting an alternate AI-generated image of Trump holding a green lightsaber while standing next to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

One commenter anticipated the far-left furor that would surely erupt over the images.
“I expect this meme will result is even greater outrage from the left than the Trump Pope meme,” they posted.
That reference pointed to another viral moment just two days earlier when Trump shared an AI image of himself dressed in papal robes.
The image, posted to his Truth Social account, showed the president in white and gold regalia, complete with cross necklace, as he held up a single finger in a papal-style blessing.
The post followed remarks Trump made about the upcoming papal conclave set to begin May 7 at the Vatican.
After the death of Pope Francis, Trump joked about the possibility of becoming the next pontiff.

“I’d like to be pope. That would be my number one choice,” he told reporters at the White House, later clarifying that he had “no preference” regarding who the next pope should be.
Despite the clarification, the meme quickly spread. Conservative commentator Laura Loomer shared a screenshot of Trump’s papal image.
“President Trump just posted this on Truth Social,” she wrote. “It comes after he told the media this week that he wants to be the next Pope.”

Social media users took it from there and created a slew of hilarious memes.
One social media account shared a doctored CNN broadcast with the headline: “TRUMP DECLARES HIMSELF NEW POPE: ‘NO ONE KNOWS MORE ABOUT POPING THAN ME.’”
Another user added to the Trump-themed Vatican storyline with a mock image of orange smoke billowing from the conclave, which signals a new pope has been chosen.
Well, it’s been confirmed that President Trump will also be know a Pope Trump. There was orange smoke seen at the Vatican. pic.twitter.com/YiBgvcc7hB
