Hillary Clinton’s Unpaid Intern Hunt Gets Roasted Over Awkward ‘Discretion’ Requirement

Hillary Clinton’s office asked for an unpaid intern with “a high level of professionalism and discretion,” and online critics instantly turned the job listing into a punchline about Monica Lewinsky.

The Office of Hillary Rodham Clinton is seeking fall interns in New York City from Sept. 9, 2026, through Nov. 13, 2026, according to a Daybook listing cited by the New York Post.

The position is unpaid, the Post reported, and the listing said interns would support Clinton’s staff by “assisting on a wide range of projects.”

The “discretion” line did most of the damage. “I wonder if Monica Lewinsky is available. She was a real team player!” one person reacted.

Another commenter mocked the listing’s dates and gendered the joke around one of the most infamous symbols of the Bill Clinton scandal.

“The Office of Hillary Rodham Clinton is seeking Fall Interns from September 9, 2026 — November 13, 2026, prefer female aged in 20s uniform Blue Dress will be provided,” the person posted.

“Must be a non smoker,” another person cracked, pointing back to the cigar that Bill Clinton claimed he used as part of a sexual act on Lewinsky in the White House.

One critic said the internship had to be through Hillary Clinton’s office because “you can’t offer ‘internships with Bill Clinton’ anymore.”

“Bill lost intern privileges,” an X user joked.

“The last time a Clinton sought college interns it really really didn’t end well,” another person posted on Instagram.

Lewinsky was 22 and working as a White House intern when she had an affair with Bill Clinton during his presidency. Hillary Clinton later argued that her husband did not abuse his power in the situation.

CNN reported at the time that the scandal led to Bill Clinton’s 1998 impeachment for “lying under oath to a federal grand jury and obstructing justice in the Monica Lewinsky affair.”

The same Daybook listing also invoked Bill Clinton’s foundation work, saying the former president established the Clinton Foundation on the belief that “everyone deserves a chance to succeed, everyone has a responsibility to act, and we all do better when we work together.”

The Post reported that Bill Clinton’s foundation team was also looking for someone to handle special projects.

Clinton’s internship headache followed other recent social media pile-ons, including a June post about President Donald Trump’s White House UFC event that brought her own family’s White House years back into the replies.

Clinton promoted hats, coasters and stickers tied to groups and candidates she said would “respect the form and the function of the people’s house.”

“Remember, during today’s literal cage match on the White House grounds: No matter what, it’s not his house. It’s our house. Get a hat, coaster, or sticker to support groups and candidates who will respect the form and the function of the people’s house,” Clinton posted.

A disclaimer on that post blocked most replies, but conservatives answered outside the thread.

Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., pointed to Bill Clinton’s Oval Office history and another criticism from the Clinton years.

“They literally rented out the Lincoln Bedroom and don’t forget Bill’s activity in the Oval Office,” Burchett posted. “The vandalism that went on when you left was also well-documented.”

Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton used Clinton’s “our house” language against her.

“Woman who stole White House furniture has something to say about ‘our house’,” Fitton commented.

A Government Accountability Office investigation requested by then-Rep. Bob Barr, R-Ga., estimated $15,000 in White House damage.

Barr alleged administration treated the White House “worse than college freshmen checking out of their dorm rooms.”

Clinton’s latest Lake Ontario post also became a Trump-era reminder of the election she lost.

“It’s Lake Ontario,” Clinton posted Thursday after Trump signed an executive order telling the Department of Interior to refer to the lake as “Lake America.”

Her X account does not allow replies, but conservatives still piled on elsewhere after the post topped 3 million views in just a few hours.

“It’s not President Hillary Clinton…and never will be,” conservative commentator CJ Pearson posted on X.

“It’s President Donald J. Trump,” the Republican National Committee posted.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., went straight at Clinton’s failed presidential bid.

“And you’ll never be President,” Blackburn posted on X.

Conservative radio host Vince Coglianese added, “Hillary’s out here shooting blanks.”

Trump’s lake order came during a worsening U.S.-Canada trade fight. Trump accused Ottawa of unfair trade practices, and the U.S. imposed new 50 percent tariffs on Canadian goods including wine, furniture and dairy products.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said U.S. trade demands showed Washington wanted to “destroy our major industries,” including auto, steel and aluminum.

Trump said Sunday that he does not want U.S. businesses importing Canadian goods while tariff tensions continue. In a Truth Social post, he said his tariffs “revived, and indeed saved” the American automobile industry.

The official Republican Party account gave Clinton a shorter answer after her White House UFC post: “sit this one out.”
