The Trump administration took a jab at the creators of the adult animated series “South Park” this week, after the show’s season opener parodied President Donald Trump.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) got the last laugh by leveraging imagery from the show in its latest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recruitment campaign.
The agency’s move appeared to provoke the show’s creators, who responded online with a crude message aimed at DHS.
“Wait, so we ARE relevant,” read a post from the show’s official account on X, which included a hashtag telling the federal department to “eat a bag of d‑‑‑s.”

The DHS had used a screengrab from a trailer for a “South Park” episode, featuring six ICE agents riding in a black SUV, on its social media accounts to encourage applications to the agency.
The post linked directly to ICE’s careers page, which contains the message, “America has been invaded by criminals and predators. We need YOU to get them out.”
When contacted for comment, the department stated the image was helpful in drawing attention to its hiring initiative.

“We want to thank South Park for drawing attention to ICE law enforcement recruitment: We are calling on patriotic Americans to help us remove murderers, gang members, pedophiles, and other violent criminals from our country,” a DHS spokesperson said in a statement.
This latest public exchange came on the heels of the show’s blistering parody of President Trump in its 27th season premiere.
In their latest episode, South Park takes aim at President Trump regarding the Epstein files, depicting him in bed with Satan.

In the episode titled “Sermon on the Mount,” Trump was shown in bed with Satan in a fiery cameo.
In the scene, the devil questions Trump about his rumored inclusion on the Epstein list.
“The Epstein list? Are we still talking about that?” Trump asks, attempting to brush off the inquiry.

“It’s weird that whenever it comes up, you just tell everyone to relax,” Satan replies.
At one point, Trump tries to seduce Satan, only for the devil to ridicule the size of his genitals, saying, “I can’t even see anything. It’s so small.”
Following the episode’s release, the White House fired back with a statement to Variety, dismissing the show’s relevance.
“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention,” the statement said.
“President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history – and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”
Show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone responded during a Comic-Con panel with a brief, sarcastic remark. “We’re terribly sorry,” Parker said.

The duo also recently commented on the high-profile merger between Skydance and Paramount Global, referring to the $8 billion deal as a “s‑‑‑show.”
That merger was later approved by the Trump administration, but controversy has followed the agreement.
CBS, owned by Paramount, settled a $16 million lawsuit with Trump involving a “60 Minutes” segment with former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Around the same time, CBS also made headlines for its decision to discontinue The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
In Wednesday night’s new episode, the show included what appeared to be a caricature of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. The animated character wore an ICE vest and carried a firearm.

The show promoted the episode earlier in the week with a post reading, “‘Got A Nut’: When Mr. Mackay loses his job, he desperately tries to find a new way to make a living.”
Meanwhile, ICE recruitment numbers have surged. According to acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, a record-setting 78,000 individuals have applied to the agency since the launch of its latest recruitment push.
“We have almost 78,000 applicants since we opened up,” Lyons told Fox News.
“We’re going through and we’re finding those people that really want to serve the country and really be in law enforcement.”

Lyons noted that the agency is also bringing back retired agents who had previously left their posts.
“Now we’re taking back our rehired annuitants, people that left the job early because they weren’t allowed to do the law enforcement mission,” he said.
Adding to the buzz, actor Dean Cain, who is known for portraying Superman on ABC in the 1990s, revealed on Tuesday that he would be joining ICE.
“I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans — not just talk about it, so I joined up,” Cain said in a video posted to X.
Cain encouraged others to consider the career opportunity. “And here’s your opportunity to join ICE. You can earn lots of great benefits and pay.”
The actor highlighted ICE’s track record under President Trump during his announcement.

“Since President Trump took office, ICE has arrested hundreds of thousands of criminals, including terrorists, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, MS-13 gang members, drug traffickers — you name it — very dangerous people who are no longer on the streets.”
Cain also pointed to financial incentives for new recruits. “You can defend your homeland and get great benefits like a $50,000 signing bonus, student loan repayment, legally, enhanced retirement benefits, and special pay for those in the field operations and law enforcement roles,” he said.
“So if you want to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst, and removing them from America’s streets,” Cain stated.
